I was not impressed with this place, food was not good, order calamari rings and the were overcooked very dry and hard as a rock no flavor, sushi rolls were not good I order a few rolls and didn't eat. Overpriced food service was not good. I would not recommend nor will I go back.

We were in town for a competition and needed to grab something to eat. The sushi here is so tasty but their fried rice is out of this world good. The service is also very welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommend!

$$$ Warning! They advertise "30% off Happy Hour" - all over the parking lot and the massive banner above their sign ... but only on the fine print of a small sign on the door can you learn it requires an absurd minimum $45 spent! Then it isn't until you're inside that you can find the number of exclusions as well. Oh brother. A definite "No" as a solo-eater, and still a "No" for unethical advertising since they don't include a very relevant detail that barely takes up additional space: "%30 off $45+ Happy Hour" (there is not even fine print on any signage other that of the small door sign... it's four characters...). Bait-and-switch.So sick of the fine print nonsense and specials masquerading as though they're deals... I wonder if they also have that fine print "20% surcharge added to each bill to cover increasing wages! This is not a tip!" ...ridiculous

Yama Sushi still packs a punch in the flavor department, even if the portions have shrunk a bit over time--probably just a casualty of inflation, you know? But let's talk taste! From their sushi rolls to their sashimi, every bite is a flavor explosion that'll have you coming back for more. Sure, you might need an extra roll or two to fill up, but trust me, it's worth it for that mouthwatering goodness. And hey, can we talk about the soy paper situation? Why upcharge for it when it costs less than seaweed anyway? Yama Sushi, let's keep the focus on the food, not the fees. Despite that, Yama Sushi remains a go-to spot for sushi cravings, delivering big flavors without breaking the bank.

If you're into Sushi, this is your place! Always fresh, friendly staff. Give them a go and let me know how it was.

Long overdue review,This place rocks. Been there several times. They have great specials, happy hour, and several different types of discounts (cash, military, etc). Food is divine, prompt service, and friendly staff. This place is truly a hidden gem.

Best sushi happy hour I have ever received! 20% off from 2:30 - 5. However if it's over $45 it's 30% off!Our total came out to be be $42. We were unaware of the happy hour deluxe special, but our waiter explained if we order something small our total would be cheaper.. so of course we had to indulge on some mochi! That's awesome and honest service, thank you Kaleb! If it wasn't implied, the sushi chefs are masters at there work. Cheers, see ya soon!

Lackluster sushi, and they're not at all consistent. If you order a roll you like and then go back to get it again in the future, it wont taste or look the same. Went for happy hour today, which is advertised as 230pm - 450pm. Sat down at our table at 220pm and noticed a sign saying that happy hour only applied to food ordered AFTER 230pm. We asked the waitress what was on happy hour and she let us know, we said ok, we'll wait. We ordered our food at 238pm. When the waitress brought the bill, nothing was discounted, and she was immediately offering an excuse as to why it wasn't discounted. She said it was because we sat down and ordered a drink at 220pm, keep in mind we ASKED about happy hour several times before ordering, so she knew why we were there. When we let her know that we weren't happy about the communication or the so called "policy", she left us sitting for a while and went to the back. She came back about 10 mins later and told us that her boss said he won't discount it. I told her I'd like to speak to him. The owner came out and told us that since we sat down and ordered a drink at 220pm that meant we weren't eligible for happy hour. If that's the policy, fine. I think it's silly, but ok....All the waitress had to do was let us know we wouldn't be eligible for happy hour and we would have left and came back or just left period. Instead, the owner was determined to get his $100 from us and refused to honor the happy hour discount that is clearly printed on the wall next to where we were sitting. Don't offer a happy hour if you don't plan on honoring it. Also, maybe train your staff better so they can let customers know if they will or won't be eligible for happy hour. It shouldn't be that hard. We'll gladly drive to Oside or Vista for a better experience from now on....

I came a few days ago with one of my cousins since we love sushi. I'm new to the area so I was pretty exited to try this place since it had great reviews but I was a little disappointed. Food was tasteless. We ordered several rolls and couldn't tell them apart as all of them tasted the same. Server was really nice and polite. They do got options but again, we were disappointed. When we got the bill, I came to almost $100! So not worth it! Specially when the rolls are pretty small. I thought it was pricey for what we got. I don't we will be coming back
