I'm South Indian and this restaurant is legit authentic and amazing. And you can tell because 95% of the customers are Indian. We live in the Bay Area but always, always come here on our way to and from Tahoe. Love how the entire restaurant is vegetarian. Highlights are the chole bhatura, idli/sambar, dosa, pongal (absolutely delicious), paratha kurma, and the CHAI (so good!). My husband and kids are also a fan of the gulab jamun, although I haven't tried it. We haven't tried the utthapam and adai but hope to do so in the future. You can tell that the food is very fresh, and service is quick and efficient. There is a also a fridge where you can find dosa and idli batter for purchase. The batter is excellent. If I have any constructive feedback, the bathrooms could be cleaner. All in all, this place is excellent and everyone should go!!

We do not have a chance to eat South Indian food much, but we enjoy the flavor and spices of the dishes. We learned a few new dishes, and they were good; however, the menu seems to be not so friendly to non-natives. If each dish has a bit of description, that will help us/non-natives for sure.

This spot has become one of my favorites, I go at least once a week. Their dosa is always perfect and every other thing I try leaves my mouth happy. I have been ordering the mini tiffin lately. The server's are always nice, now they know my name. Gets busy in there, but there's plenty of room. Lots of tables, and nice lighting.

Basic Ambiance. Basic Service. Bangalore style Masala Puri was interesting - whole puri topped with Sambar. Coffee was pre made but super hot. Tea was good

So disappointed. Their ad on Yelp says they have outdoor seating. We have a DOG and can't sit inside the restaurant. We drove 30 minutes to try the South Indian cuisine. My friend who has never tried South Indian was excited to try South Indian food. Unfortunately, the servers at this restaurant do not want to serve outside. Why don't you update your ad then. Pretty disappointed.

Awesome and authentic food! Plenty of seating, food is fresh and reliable. As a South Indian, I love having a place I can get food when I feel homesick! Highly highly recommend. Have tried over half of their menu, and nothing disappoints!

My friend and I love getting Masala Dosas with Samosas. Both were delicious, however the amount of spiced potatoes on the Masala Dosa were lacking. Presentation can be better. On the upside, they're quick getting the food out to you. Service is wonderful. The ambiance is meh.

Had Pongal Vada Combo, Poori with Kurma and Mylapore special dosa. Each item is so delicious and authentic. Must eat here if you are passing this way.

Had Sambar idly(finished it even before taking picture :-) ) and taste is similar to restaurants in Tamilnadu. Highly recommended for people who want to taste indian vegetarian tiffins.

Good place for a quick dinner on Fridays, but it is always crowded and feels very rushed. I want to relax and the place is not peaceful at all. Very noisy and very crowded.

Came to Mylapore having only ever tried South Indian food. A handful of times I was greeted with courtesy and served fresh and flavorful food. if you enjoy different kinds of cuisine, you must give this a try. I find it so interesting how the flavor profiles are different from northern Indian food and for that I appreciated my experience all the more. The food can be filling, even though many of the options are vegetarian for one. I’m glad that I could eat ethically!Vegetarian options: The name of the business says it all!

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this place already.Really good, authentic South Indian food (by North Indian standards). But even more outstanding is their customer service.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant- it wasn’t too busy and we got a table immediately. There’s limited service- you need to place your order at the counter and pay but a server brings the food to your table when it’s ready.I ordered the podi uttapam for lunch. Others with me ordered the onion chili uttapam and the Mylapore special dosa. The podi uttapam was good- the podi wasn’t overwhelming or too dry. The coconut chutney and sambar went along well with it. The other dishes had way too many green chilies and were too spicy (and I have pretty high spice tolerance!).I’d recommend this restaurant but be sure to get the right item. They have vegan options clearly marked which was very helpful!
