If you want frozen dumplings, baos, wontons, or sui mais, then this is your place. They're known for their dumplings, but their lao sa baos are so delicious. Best I've had in the Bay outside of Hong Kong itself.

I know it's during COVID so everyone is trying to do their best and make a living, but there are few things about this store that really disappointed me. 1. It's under a totally different ownership since at least a year ago, but still using Pankee food's name? 2. Since they using Pankee's name people would expect the quality and the price are about the same. But No! The price is way more expensive for their food quality. I walked in today and there's a lady came in after me she asked why the Yelp name is Pankee food still and the owner just said haven't changed yet. I just felt like they are not being very honest. 3. The food is pretty expensive and the buns are dry and not very fresh. $12 for 5-6 frozen buns. 32 dollars for a bag of 50 frozen dumplings... I don't think we will come back again..

Place is called Siu Mai Factory (signage outside/inside still notes Pan Kee Foods) selling frozen buns, dumplings, and won tons...no hot, prepared foods served here, only food to be cooked at home. Gentleman that assisted me didn't speak much English, but freezer is nicely labeled with the type of dumplings and buns from pork, chicken and vegetarian filled items. The dumplings were delicious and generously filled but can't vouch for their buns as I'm so "vanilla" when it comes to steamed buns: plain, bbq pork, eh.....maybe a custard filled is all i care for. I picked up the vegetarian one with shiitake, spinach and bean threads (thin, clear noodles) which was different (for me) but had a good, fluffy "bun-ny" exterior. :) Unfortunately, no instructions are provided if you're a newbie to "cook-at-home' dumplings/baos but you can steam, boil (of course not the bun!), and nuke these items for a quick meal. Located in Beach Park Plaza small strip mall in Foster City with plenty of lot parking.

Got a takeout of here that consists of XLBs, lotus roots stuffed with sticky rice, spicy beef tendon, and liu sa bao. My husband who lived in Shanghai for ten years seems to be very happy with how authentic it tastes. I took one star out cause I feel that the XLBs are on the pricey side (almost the same price as Din Tai Fung) given that I had to steam them myself. We will come back to try other items on the menu.

Second pick up order this month and couldn't be more satisfied. Food was ready when I arrived. Attendant wore a mask. Ordered 12 items to cover several meals. Vegetable filled and pork filled pastries were amazing. Dumplings were large and the corn inside tasted fresh. Trying a few new items as well and I'll report back. Amazing food at very reasonable prices. Our new second kitchen!

Fantastic place to get authentic dumplings, sui mai and baos. The dumplings and sui mai's have very thin wrappers relative to the filling and have great flavor. There is an excellent selection of savory bao's (pork and vegetable is my favorite) and the sweet custard bun is the best I've found in the bay area. Will keep coming back here for the high quality food!

I found this place by accident when picking up take away from Sweet Basil Thai restaurant. Ended up buying chicken and corn dumpling, pork and shrimp shu main and steamed creamy custard bun. I steamed the shu mai and custard buns using the primitive steamer (pot, steamer basket and lid) and the result are delicious. Highly recommended. More selection if we place order online but need to pick up the next day. I confirm that the older man that works here can't speak english. If you can't speak mandarin/chinese just get what you need from the freezer/fridge, they label everything in English and pay. Don't ask questions to scare them off. The cooking instruction is easy, dim sum stuffs - steam and for dumpling - boil. They provide english menu on the table. No hassle and no discrimination.

Extremely delicious!! Very authentic eastern Chinese dim sum. I would stick to this store in the future, this remind of my hometown

Came here since to try out the dim sum dumplings since not really going to during these COVID times. Pretty solid in terms of taste size of the dumplings/ sui mai are much larger than what you would get from a restaurant and price comes out to around $1 per dumpling. They sell in bags of 20 and cost around $20 per bag, some a little cheaper like $18. Got the regular sui mai, xia long bao (xlb) and glutinous rice dumplings. They even gave me a few pieces of parchment paper for steaming after purchase which was nice. Taste wise they are pretty good, I think they try to add a small twist to the sui mai by putting a small amount of salted egg yolk in the dumpling. Pretty good flavor wise. The XLB were good although I either steamed too long, skin got cracked from being frozen or something and got soup in only half of the ones I cooked. Meat inside was juicy but missed the soup with the dumpling. The rice was was a good change of pace especially if you are looking for a veg option. Things which could be better possibly. Maybe have fridge or something so you can have fresh dumplings made that day instead of frozen. Also possibly have a variety pack of the top dumplings, maybe 6 of the top 4 dumplings or something. Ordering 3 types cost me about $60, be happy to pay a small premium to get more of a variety as 3 bags of dumplings in my freezer take up a fair amount of room. Other than that would come back if looking for dumplings to cook at home.

I've gotten a variety of their frozen items. Favorites include the fish dumplings, salted egg yolk sticky rice siu mai, and green chives pancakes. The various pork dumplings are good too. The steamed buns are just ok (I miss the couple who ran the shop here before. Their buns were outstanding!). It's a small shop - I've been a few times during COVID and it's always been one customer inside at a time.

Today, I witnessed discrimination by this business. The time was approximately 4:15pm, There was a non-Asian family of three, that this business turned away, although the neon Open sign, as well as the white/blue/black Open source sign was visible. Being part Asian myself frustrates me, as we're trying to stand up for the minority. Shortly after the family was turned away there was an obviously Asian couple who were not turned away. What the heck is that about? If your business is on a mandatory break then turn off the open signs. Sorry but you have lost a customer, as I will not be a patron in your establishment.

Got some frozen pork veggies won ton and custard buns to stash away in the deep freezer. The won ton was fantastic. Really comes in handy to just throw some in a pot of boiling water and have the main dish for dinner ready quick. I throw some veggies in after the won ton cooks and it's good to go as a full meal. Seems they recently changed ownership. The sign outside says Pan Kee but the menu and packaging has Siu Mai factory labels. I think the new owners are doing a better job as Pan Kee use to have very limited/unpredictable hours. Will definitely come back to try out other varieties of dumplings!

Omg don't get anything from here. I got a bag of Siu mai, a bag of pork and chive dumplings and the container of the custard buns. Everything was rotten....like super rotten. The pork was a funny color and it tasted so rotten. The dumplings skin was so freezer burned that the skin was not edible. The custard buns were also freezer burned and the inside tasted way off. They put the food in a cheap freezer bag. No one was there when I went in and that should have been a big sign to turn away $55 down the drain. Don't go here

The changed management failed to provide the same level of quality food as the previous owner. The filling is dry and less flavored.
