The chicken is excellent. The menu, currently taped to a plexiglass divider, needs to be larger, in a larger font, in a simpler font, and in a place visible from more places than standing right in front of the register. I also think this place needs to market itself better as a hai-nan chicken restaurant.

Such a special treat to have Simply Home Cafe cater our picnic lunch. The chicken was delicious and the rice was cooked to perfection! Bonus was having the soup on the side as well. Can't wait to return to the restaurant in person so I can try other menu items!!!

Ordered the simply home chicken and portion of it was raw. Tried emailing the email provided from the employee but came back as undeliverable.

I always somehow end up at new places when craving certain foods until I find the perfect place. I regret not ordering the dark meat as that is usually an option for hainan chicken. The chicken was moist and the rice was pretty good. I usually eat this with ginger sauce but sadly this place does not have it. My boyfriend ordered chow fun which tasted very good. We ordered a Thai tea and a mango passion fruit tea as we always order one milk and one fruit drink since we always crave those. The quality is very good and a bit on the sweet side. Ordered: Simply Home Chicken, Simply Home Beef Chow Fun, Thai tea and Mango passion fruit tea

Visual: 3 stars. They serve everything in to-go boxes now. You can dine-in, but they will bring out plastic boxes. It looks pretty sad compared to the advertising photo. Taste: 5 stars. Juicy and soft chicken, delicious rice, good dipping sauce and pickle veggies.

Highly recommend this restaurant! Amazing! I tried the Hainan chicken, salads, and rice combo for the first time today, and I loved it. Thank you very much!

I wish I had checked out Simply Home Cafe earlier when my friends had told me about it! Located in a shopping plaza with a supermarket, thrift store, and other eateries, this place is poppin' and still has plenty of parking. I went with my friend and tried the hainan chicken with salad and soup (they have an option to add an egg for extra too) and I asked for the friendly cashier's boba recommendation. I absolutely loved the food. You pay at the front and you can sit down and they'll bring the food to you. Everything is packaged to handle to-go in large container with small sauce containers inside. As you can see I got the soup container, larger container with the chicken and salad, and inside that the dressing, green onion, soy ginger sauce, and some spicy sauce- also utensils and napkins of course. Perfectly set-up for a picnic to-go or for left overs. Even though I was hungry I was only able to eat half of it since it was surprisingly filling. The fruit tea boba was delicious and not too sweet with jelly, boba, and small ice cubes. My friends ordered more of the finger foods. I noticed they also do online orders, Postmates/Doordash, which was popular, catering, and frozen make-at-home wontons, which is cool! I loved the combo of food and drinks and will be taking my friend who have't been here soon :).

I love this place! Especially since they remodeled! It's so cute and the owner is so nice! The food is a modern take on vietnamese specialties. Don't forget to order a Vietnamese coffee. So good here!

Wonderful hole in the wall! My sister and I shared the simply hone chicken and the pork and shrimp dumplings and it hot the spot! The sauce on the dumplings isn't spicy and has such a wonderful flavor! Definitely will be coming back again!

Love some Simply Home Cafe! Friendly staff, clean and nicely upgraded establishment. I love the cozy yet chic interior. Seems like this place is always changing their interior. One thing that's stayed consistent is their food. From teas, snacks and meals, Simply Home revolves around an Asian cuisine and refreshing teas. Service is a bit slow but I think this could be due to lack of staff. Nonetheless, when the food/drinks come out, they don't disappoint! If you're in a hurry or come during lunch hour, I would strongly recommend calling ahead of time.

Located in the same plaza as Brodard and Albertsons near Bonchon. I called ahead to order some Hainan Chicken. They were quick and friendly to take my order. When I got to the restaurant my order was ready for pick up. The rice was perfectly cooked and the chicken was juicy and delicious. The ginger sauce was why I knocked off a star. Definitely lacking in the flavor department. Also, the side salad was average.

I follow them on instagram and live in San Clemente so I had been wanting to try them for over a year. After they reopened due to closing for the pandemic, I gave it a go. I think if I had eaten there, it would have been a much better experience. But I actually got food delivered via Door Dash. I was willing to wait the hour for my food because I was so eager to try it. I ordered the fried chicken and the spicy wonton noodles. The fried chicken was really good but they forgot the sauce ( again I think it would have been better to eat there because hot out of the fryer would have been excellent). The spicy shrimp and pork wonton noodles were mediocre- it was lacking the sauce you see in the pictures on their instagram. I've had these kinds of wontons before at Din Tai Fung in Costa Mesa and also Paper Lantern Dumping in Irvine and they have always come with tons of sauce. I am willing to try this place again and order something else- but I will try to eat there. Hopefully it will be a better experience.

Food was meh. Cute ambiance though. I might come back once they serve food normally.Shrimp & pork wontons in spicy sauce:The wontons were nice and soft and juicy. The sauce isn't spicy at all, it's more like a spiced soy sauce. It was good but I've had better. 3/5Simply home chicken:This looked really nice in the yelp pictures but even though we got "for here" our order was plated as to go. The chicken had some pink and red areas; I'm not sure if that's raw but it wasn't appetizing and the flavor itself was not too fresh. The rice had nice flavor but the fried egg was pretty oily. The ginger soy sauce that comes with it makes the dish much better. The pickles veggies were tasty though. 2/5

Order a Hai nam chicken rice today. I like the flavor because there are not many places have this traditional flavor. Rice is soft and chicken is juicy. It also comes with fresh salad. However, 1 minus point is they use too much plastic, which downgrade the quality of the food.
