It's a very small restaurant located in a small strip mall. There are maybe 5-6 tables. You mark your order on the menu and they'll bring the food to you. The dim sum was ok. I wouldn't say it was the best. But not bad. I was kinda wondering how they had such a large selection for such a small kitchen area. I'd go again if I was in the area.

We love the Hong Kong milk tea chicken feet, fried taro, sticky rice and beef balls. Hargow, siumai, were just so so. Nice little place and people.I saw a picture of a variety box but they didn't have that anymore.Closed Tuesday. Affordable and good to take out.

The staff was the best part, very friendly and helpful. The food was good. Loved the sesame balls and pork buns. Prices were average. Environment was underrated, but clean.

I can tell why this place was so packed! The dim sum and ease of access is most likely what draws everyone here! The workers here were super accommodating and patient with myself and all the patrons here. I had a to-go order and they were very efficient in putting in what I wanted. Although the order did take slightly long to come out, I understand because there were a ton of people there. We ordered a few items such as the pork and preserved egg congee and the sticky rice in lotus leaf. Both items were good but they didn't blow me out the water. Still a very decent spot for dim sum though.I really do have to take my hate off to the workers there because they provided excellent service to the dine in customers. They were able to accommodate a larger party by putting tables together and were very helpful and quick in clearing the tables while they were leaving. I remember one of the customers was about to throw his own trash away when one of the workers told him that it's okay, let me clear that for you. Extremely nice people here!

Joyful Dim Sum is wonderful home made dim sum in a very small, casual eatery- terrific for taking out. We dined in and the service was very kind and efficient, we tried Har Gow, Shu Mai, Xiao Long Bao, baked pork buns and shrimp/chive dumplings. Everything is clearly handmade with great skill, the wrappers are thin and fresh. You can also buy frozen dim sum to take home and steam, or baked buns to take home. The pork buns are outstanding, with a little honey drizzled on top.

Good inexpensive dim sum. Their menu is smaller compared to other dim sum take out places but they do it well. Service is good and the staff is nice and friendly. They have a few indoor tables and a few outdoor tables. A good place to go for a quick dim sum fix.

This is a small dim sum to go place with a few tables for seating. There's a good amount of items on the menu. If you dine in, there's free tea that you fill yourself. We ordered har gow, black sesame dumplings, wontons in chili oil sauce, pan fried pork and vegetable buns, pan fried turnip cake, and crispy glutinous puffs. We enjoyed the har gow; skin wasn't too thin and there was a good amount of filling. The turnip cake was seasoned well and we enjoyed the little pieces of lap cheung (Chinese sausage) in it. The puffs were a bit oily, but very crispy and the meat tasted great as well. I'm a huge black sesame fan, but I wasn't a fan of the black sesame dumplings since the filling was more grittier than I'd like. I was expecting the consistency to be smooth like in tang yuan (sweet rice balls with black sesame filling). The chili wontons were not spicy at all and the pork and vegetable buns were a bit bland for us. Overall, the quality was pretty good for the price, and if we are in the area, we will be back again to try other items in the menu.

Finding a good dim sum restaurant to eat is probably one of the hardest things to do in the Bay Area or perhaps I am way too picky. Maybe a little of both... Having gone to college in San Francisco I have always enjoyed the great restaurants before the new millennium. So for today I decided to try Joyful mostly because of the reviews that was written about the place. The restaurant is very small with less than 5 tables inside and 4 doubles outside. Maybe I will come back in the summer to try the outdoor dining option. I guess I was the first one there though I noticed that some people had already phoned in their orders earlier. The lady at the counter took my order and I was told it would probably take about 15 minutes. I guess it is as fresh as it can get.At about the time, my order was ready to go and I was on my way home. Once these I unpack and was surprised that the food was still warm. Firstly, the steamed bbq pork buns were very good. Their size was small but for the price it was a good deal. The shrimp dumplings were also very good. The skin was light enough and the shrimp filling was sizeable. The wrapped sticky rice is my go to dish and I was impressed by this version. The wantons in chili oil was a little disappointing. Wantons tend to be very light in flavor so I expected the chili oil to add some flavor as well as heat. The egg tarts are also excellent though the custard can be a little bit more. The sesame balls were also excellent though the sesame seeds weren't consistent around the balls. Overall the food was a solid 4 to 4.5 stars.I did like the meal and will definitely come back to try some of their other dishes.

This small dim sum place in the Mission area of Fremont is fantastic. Offering solid quality, amazing flavors, and reasonable prices, it's my go-to spot. I always indulge in their har gow, sui mai, and chili oil dumplings – they're a must-try!

Great snack/dim sum place. Affordable, really tasty and right portions. All the dishes/ingredients are fresh and tastes great, authentic flavors and just the right portions. They are all very affordable as well so you can try out different dishes. The restaurant is pretty small but there is outdoor seating and it can hold up to 15~20 people. My new favorite brunch spot!

Family owned. Great for dim sum lovers, since it is what they do. Everything is cooked fresh, and the taste is great. Prices are more than reasonable.

The quality of the items here are great and most importantly consistent. The portions served here are very generous and in combination with the affordable prices, Joyful Dim Sum Bistro has quickly become my favorite go-to spot for a hot and reliable meal as someone who frequently visits the area. The team as well as the space inside are fairly small, making it particularly crowded at times during busier hours, so I usually order to-go. The place is clean and the staff have overall been very kind and accommodating, making ordering and receiving food a stress-free experience. My favorite items are the classic Har Gow and Sui Mai dumplings, but the Crispy Glutinous Puffs were a also really delicious! Will certainly come back to keep trying more of the menu.
