My family and I have been loyal customers of Saravana Bhavan for over a decade now, but unfortunately, the service quality has alarmingly declined in the last 12 months. The previous manager, Abbas, used to treat each customer like the most important aspect of their business. Regrettably, the same cannot be said about the recent staff who have replaced him. Excessively long wait times and a careless attitude towards patrons make this once-great restaurant a big disappointment for us. I've given it two stars mainly for old times' sake, mainly due to Mr. Abbas, but nothing else. Avoid this place if you value your time and expect basic customer-centric service.

Hubby ordered executive thali for me recently when I was sick. The thali came with (in the order of my favourites$ Puliodarai: Tamil style, super yummy, tempered with groundnuts and lots of curry leaves red chillis. Loved it. Swiped off instantly Thayire saadam: creamy cold delicious curd rice. Best and tasty served with tangy lemon pickle. Best combo. Kesari: yummy! Appadam; great as always. Rasam; I felt it was salty and not to my liking. Sambar rice: this was salty too. Quantity was great. I could only finish half in 1 sitting. Ate the remaining the next day. Packing was good too.

Food was tasty and service was quick. The good thing is that it has a self order app. Scan the QR code on the table. You can't go wrong with this restaurant.Vegetarian options: All vegetarian menu. Highly recommend.

Ambience is decent. Food is okay, there are better places. If you’re going for authentic South Indian food, avoid. If you wanna experience decent service and ambience, can give a try. Also, it’s $$ as compared to other South Indian places.

Extremely disappointed, visiting after few years, looks like new management. Had paneer cheese masala dosa...terrible, mashed up everything, wrong rava order, cold sambar...... Request management to bring back the sarvana glory as seen in other branches

We had a lunch thali. The food was ok. We used to come here often before the pandemic and it was close to it but not as good. But the prices have almost doubled, a thali is ~22$ including tax. Not worth the money, you can get a good buffet for that price

I think this place is under new management now. The food was delicious, we fully enjoyed the food as a full family. For a change we ordered vadas pav and it was made to perfection...keep up the good food SB.

DO NOT EAT HERE, YOU COULD GET MOLD POISONING. (Especially if you're immunocompromised) I rarely write reviews but what my family and I have had to go through the past 4 days has been absolute torture. And I need to raise awareness on what this restaurant is doing to their customers. We have been super sick after eating from here. I tasted some mold in one of the dishes but continued eating thinking it was in my head. The amount of mold you have to consume to get the effects that we did is a lot which means all of the food probably had mold. Super Nauseous, state of confusion, motor skills all down. My mom lost her memory for 5-10 mins which can happen with extreme mold poisoning. This restaurant needs to get it together before they potentially kill someone. I'm still sick on the 4th day after eating there, I'm not able to hold down water. We started asking family friends about their experience here and most of them have gotten sick. The service also completely sucks! Do not eat here unless you want to potentially get sick. A response to your comment: are you always in the kitchen when food is being prepared for you to say that with so much confidence? Mold is something that is easily overlooked by even the most trained person. Espeically when it comes to saving money for a business. And it also doesn't make everyone sick. But those that are immunocompromised can get extremely sick (ex. My family was only sick for one day and I was sick for 4-5 days because I am immunocompromised). Also most people don't realize if they have mold poisoning because the symptoms are mainly neurological vs something like food poisoning is more physical. Plus mold poisoning in this way can have extreme long term effects on the health of the body. So yes even though people may not have felt it now they could have permanent damage which will show up in the future. I spoke to a health inspector recently and he said that Saravanaa Bhavan has the worst kitchen he has ever seen in his entire career. Do better! I have also spoken to someone who said they were hospitalized for days after eating your food and almost died. I've also spoken to someone who found a cockroach in their chai and your establishment didn't take it seriously just laughed it off. I can't believe I ever dined at this place I feel absolutely disgusted with this restaurant and you for such a terrible response to such a serious situation. Have a nice day.

This past month of turning into a vegetarian temporarily, I've been trying a lot of Indian places that serve south Indian veg delicacies like dosa, vada etc. Probably the only time of the year I go to restaurants looking for veg options. I think I have mixed feelings about this restaurant as compared to the others I've been going to. One thing I liked here is its spicy, the aloo masala here is a well prepared spicy sabji. I believe this restaurant is pricier than other similar, due to its brand. But I wish my experience was just as great. I expected an experience equal to or better, but dosas weren't the best I've had. Podi dosa was good,. But ghee dosa, medu vada and utthappam, I've had better. One of my frnz took thali and he was happy to find out that they serve veg biriyani on that day with the thali. It was funny when I saw literally 1 tbsp of veg biriyani in one of the thali bowls, but that's probably just my ignorance about the thalis, no complaints there. Gobi 65 was spicy, good. Overall a decent experience, but I probably expected more for the price they charge.
