Food was excellent and so was the service. Atmosphere was nice but a little too dark. My husband had to angle his menu towards the little bit of light he was able to find.

Its been years since we have been here. The atmosphere is fabulous. Old school charm with a warm and friendly vibe coming from thr staff. Food is good, very solid in the quality but not evolved to a more updated menu in what appears a while. Very tasty though.

Off night for the Manhattan? Had dinner reservations at 6:30, but did not get seated until 7:15 and the meal didn't arrive until after 8:00. Ordered steak medium rare and it came out cooked uneven with medium on the top half and and well done on the other half. It obviously was not turned properly and overcooked on one side (should have taken a picture of it, but it didn't seem proper at the time.) Of course, I had the option to send it back and then watch the other person in my party eat her meal alone while I waited. Never a good situation--especially after waiting 1.5 hours from arrival until the meal--so I just tried to enjoy my overcooked $50 steak. Not trying to be harsh, but for a place with such a reputation and has "steakhouse' in the name, this was simply unacceptable. On the positive side, the Tuna Tartar was simply fantastic (the reason for 2 stars and not 1,) our server was pleasant & the corkage fee was waived due to the wait. Not sure we will return to the Manhattan based on this experience--if so it will be on a weekday night to see if this experience was an anomaly.

High level old traditional steakhouse and extensive bar. White tablecloth adult atmosphere. Fish, steak, and salads were just right. $$$.

I'm originally from Chicago & we know steaks! The steak I had at The Manhattan was perfectly seared & cooked exactly the way I ordered One of the best steaks I ever had. And the service was excellent.

Let me start with the positive: Great hostess, we were made to feel at home the moment we came through the front door . Loved the old timey steakhouse vibe. Good wine menu and by industry standards the markup was not unreasonable. Unfortunately, since we came to a steakhouse to get some steak, on the most important matter, this restaurant failed miserably . The filets were awful... Really tough. Not sure why, maybe they were seared while cold? There is no excuse for a steakhouse, sending out a tough chewy filet. Especially when ordered medium rare. The veggies were cooked perfectly. Someone in our group substituted mashed potatoes for the standard "hash-browns" everyone regretted not doing the same thing. No one finished their steak.

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years, even hosting seminars there so I know the owners pretty well OR SO I THOUGHT! Went there to celebrate our Anniversary. I made sure to tell them that. I had no idea my husband had called as well asking them if they do anything special for the occasion. He was told NOT REALLY. He then asked could he order something to have for us. He was then told, well we have a CUPCAKE and can put a candle on it.. REALLY A CUPCAKE! He said ok if that's all you have then that's fine. He's a very kind man. I'm a Chardonnay girl, so my large glass of CRU was great. My husband ordered three different kind of drinks before he got one that was ok. The bread was cold and the butter was hard. The recommended Macadamian crusted Mahi was over cooked and chewy. I has the crusted Calamari and it was great. They forgot to bring us the $10 baked potato. We were almost done with our meal by the time we got it. We noticed they had brought out celebration desserts with a candle to a couple of tables. We got NOTHING!! Looking back at prior visits, they did recognize and brought a desert with a candle. instead the waitress brought us a desert menu. We said no it's ok we were there to celebrate our Anniversary. She said oh ok and gave us our bill. RUDE !!!! They should be careful about how they treat their customers because good business is word of mouth. We will scratch them off of our list ...... It also seems they don't even read their reviews... Maybe the owners are full of themselves.. Not cool. 2.5 review.

Excellent place to enjoy a lovely dinner for two, family or party. Everything on the menu is superb. Fun to sit at the bar with friends. Melissa, my favorite bartender is second to none. Love it!
