Waitress misquoted special pricing which resulted in overcharge. Waited 10 minutes longer than tables next to us. Salmon dinner was cold...was told it was because the artichokes were cold thus it was my fault as I ordered the wrong dinner. Manager was nice (Josh) and said waitress misquoted the dinner...comped my beer. At the end of the day dinner was not great and service was poor. There are a lot of other better choices in Fresno. Please don't waist your money or your time. We will not be back.

Wait staff was wonderful! She was helpful but not hovering. Water glasses refilled as needed! The food is always great. The menu built to please anyone. We were welcomed warmly and seated right away. We've been going to Max's for decades and are never disappointed!!

The restaurant is just a joy to be in, wonderful art and aesthetics everywhere. The service and hospitality was topnotch from the servers to the management. We had Filet Mignon, potatoes au gratin, fresh asparagus. All seasoned and cooked perfectly.And a bottle of a red blend wine (Paring) that was quite good and not too expensive. Oh, and the Creme Bruleê so good. 5 stars!

Kobe beef meatloaf was amazing. Service by Kirsten was awesome. She was so fast, warm, friendly and efficient. Great ambiance in this place love the art on the walls.. Will definitely come back when I'm in Fresno.

Made reservations earlier in the week and you would think making it days in advance you would be seated somewhere decent rather than a tiny wobbly table next to a heavily trafficked area. Then we had some specials which we regretted. Halibut was dry. New york steak was tough and overly salty, cooked right though. Lastly the price for such bad meal was outrageous. Server was good though. But price for what get is absolutely was not worth it.

Went to Max's for a business lunch and we were given a seat in the back, which was perfect for our ability to discuss what needed to be done. Service was great and the food was perfect. We both had the Steak salad and the steak was tender and done to perfection. I always love coming here. They do a great job lunch or dinner.

I had the kobe meatloaf, which many reviewers seemed to like. For me, the meatloaf was good but a little underwhelming in terms of flavor. For dessert, we had the toffee bread pudding, which was truly fantastic.I am interested to go back and try other dishes.

Took my wife here for our 6 year anniversary and it did not disappoint! My wife if Gluten free she's not super sensitive but definitely can't eat wheat and Maxes had quite a few options for her to choose from such as the bacon Brussels sprouts and they're sweet potato fries... I'm not gluten free so the complementary bread and spread they have were delicious. My wife has the scallops subes for the salmon dinner plate and I have the prime rib... I'll definitely be going back again for another special occasion the room was aesthetic with pop art and service was good with staff always refilling water or your needs
We had a wonderful experience celebrating my son's 30th birthday at Max's. Nai, our server could not have been more hospitable and accommodating. She made us all (party of 6) feel so welcomed and was as kind and attentive as she could be. She & the Chef worked with me ahead of time re. some dietary restrictions, and they customized a dish according to my specific requests; that was SO appreciated. They also provided refrigerator space to store the cake we brought in, and served it with lit candles after our dinner. The ambiance at Max's was lovely and inviting. The food and presentation, outstanding. The service was excellent. We had a nice spot in a semi-quiet area of the restaurant which added some privacy to our dining experience. Thank you to the Chefs and the staff for treating us so well!

Have been to Max's many times. The meals are usually very nice....this one was exceptionally good. Service was prompt and courteous and the meal was perfect. Had the 6oz filet (medium)...came out perfect (slightly pink). Wife ad the steak salad and it was delish. Finished the evening off with the Lemon Bundt Cake for desert and it was perfect. Will be heading back to Max's soon.

Service was incredible! We got seated right away once everyone from our party arrived. Our server so very nice with our big crowd and really patient. She shared their specials and everything sounded really good. Prices were high especially for the quality of food.... We each got something different and tried each others dish. The ratings were 4-7 out of 10(being the highest). We were pretty disappointed with the food and probably wouldn't be our first choice to come back.
