the food is great, although sometimes it’s a bit lackluster. they sell out fast of Musubi’s and due to the service of the staff, you can tell it’s a family owned restaurant, they hire just about anyone it feels.— a male with long dark hair seems he can never balance out the environment on his own :/

You can not convince me that there is a better Hawaiian place in Fresno. I've been going here for years and they will always be a top restaurant in this area. They are too consistent, too fast, too nice, and too delicious to ever be topped. Their main item is the garlic furikake chicken, and its for a REASON. I cannot even begin to explain the flavor so you have to go out and try it for yourself (and get it spicy). It's a combination of sweet, umami, and spicy and has the perfect cripsy texture. Their portion sizes are HUGE and definitely worth it for the price. You get rice, mac salad, and veggies under the chicken that are soaking up all the good juices. They have a house vinegar sauce located on each of the tables in the restuarant and that is a must have to make the best meal even better. Even if you don't land on this one, any other item is just as good. We also had a new item called the kimchi butter chicken katsu plate, which had a nice kick and crunch. I don't have pictures, but their spam musubi's and poke nachos hit different as well. DONT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!

This is my first time checking in and this will forever be my first and last review of this place BECAUSE I will be gatekeeping this place for eternity. I'm sure this place gets enough recognition, but if you don't know about it already, that's a skill issue. After first finding this place and introducing it to my family, I scheduled us for intervention a week after because of the SHEER withdrawals we get when we stopped going here. I'm not even gonna bother explaining how good the food here is cause there's just nothing bad I haven't tried. Don't talk to me if you do though, I'd rather be ignorant.Anyways, I love how friendly the staff are here and I see them working hard (especially when there's a rush of people). I also love the small decorations scattered around (didn't know the flag for Hawaii looked like that). It is pretty small so def not meant for bigger groups.

On Thursday, January 4, 2023, I ordered my food and I sat down at the sitting area and one of the employees said to one of the other employees. Tell all the customers to go home. We are too busy today.I will never go back to this place. I was a customer and the employee did not want us to go to eat there. Bad customer service.Parking: No issues.

Reminds me of Northshore in Hawaii! I actually had garlic butter shrimp from a food truck on Northshore. Then this place has a dish called Northshore garlic shrimp. Of course I had to try it! Soooooo good. Legit Hawaiian flavors. I chose the kimchee side with rice and a small mix salad. Perfect portion. How have I not had this place before?!? Service was fast and friendly too. The restaurant is a small casual sit-down with nice Hawaiian decor. Menu is small with plenty of flavors. Next time I want to try the loco moco and musubi. They also serve poke. But I will have to try that another time. Definitely will return.

We've been here several times, and love the food. Last night, we ordered the meat jun, a favorite dish we could previously find, only in Hawaii. Portions were large, and delicious! Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their food, too. Also received great service from Cord, who suggested that we try the kalbi, which looked and smelled amazing! Loco moco and mochiko chicken are also yummy items on their menu, that we've tried before. Can't wait for the Dole whip machine to be fixed. That used to be our favorite dessert there. Looking forward to dining at Ohana Shack again!

Simply the best. We go out of our way to make it here any time we pass the area! Small shop, if they are out of something, it's because their food is just that good. Order early and order everything! Every dish is a 10/10, and Saturdays they have pastries!

GARLIC FURIKAKE CHICKEN!It is among the most popular local dishes throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Unbelievably delicious, crunchy, and juicy, it is one of the best fried chicken dishes from any of the Pacific Islands and is usually served with rice or traditional Hawaiian macaroni salad. Unfortunately, garlic furikake chicken is usually not on the menu of most Hawaiian BBQ restaurants in California that I have visited before. So I was fortunate enough to learn about Ohana Shack in Fresno which specializes in this dish.It was as good as advertised: crunchy, juicy, generously sprinkled with furikake seasoning, paired with a fantastic garlic shoyu dipping sauce, and fried to perfection. Although it was a new dish for me, per se, the flavors are very familiar. This is because furikake is a commonly used Japanese condiment that consists of nori (dehydrated, pressed seaweed), toasted sesame seeds, salt, and sugar. The seasoning gives this savory fried chicken dish a good balance of sweetness and saltiness that is packed with umami flavors. The Spam musubi is also very good. I thought the macaroni salad, however, was very salty. For my next visit, I would probably ask to substitute it with kimchi, which is another side dish served here. The garlic furikake chicken gives you that one-of-a-kind umami flavor and is a must-try dish. They also serve other traditional Hawaiian dishes like meat jun, Mochiko chicken, and coconut shrimp which are hard to find at other restaurants as well. Additionally, Ohana Shack serves 7 varieties of poke bowls and has both Dole Whip and ube soft serve ice cream.

I love their Poke! Definitely similar to poke I've tried in Hawaii and also one of the best pokes in Fresno IMHO. I have been supporting them since they started as a food truck, moved to SF, then moved back to Fresno again.Their food is delicious and authentic. They recently started selling Malasadas on Saturdays only. Flavors alternate weekly.Congratulations on being #7 on 100 Top places to eat in Central California-North! See you guys again soon :)

Super super yummy! I got the Garlic Furikake Chicken, which was phenomenal, my husband got the Kalbi Short Ribs, which he loved, and we both tried a Fish Taco. You also get a ton of food for the price. We were stuffed and satisfied.

Delicious!! I have read so many great reviews about this place and I was going to be in Fresno and knew that I had to come here. The interior is small yet welcoming, the menu is straight to the point, the prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly. The menu consists of Hawaiian fare that is hard to come by such as Mochiko Chicken, Garic Furikake Chicken, Northshore Garlic Shrimp and Local Style Teriyaki Chicken. They also have a variety of musubis, poke bowls and island style tacos/nachos. As far as desserts go they have fresh malasadas as well as dole whip. I came here strictly for the Garlic Furikake Chicken which comes with rice, salad and mac salad. This chicken was amazing!! It was fried to perfection, nicely seasoned and had a great garlic flavor that wasn't overpowering. The chicken was so crispy on the outside while still being moist and not overcooked. The salad, rice and mac salad were really good as well. I will definitely be back for that garlic furikake chicken and to try some of the other items on the menu. This is definitely one of the best Hawaiian restaurants that I've been to in a long time.
