All the new dishes (classic comfort) on their dining menu are delicious! The chicken salad with sesame miso dressing is off the hook! Korean short ribs and chicken curry are fire!

We purposely drive an hour away to just eat here. We love the tepanaki but this last time we didn't enjoy it as much as the last time. The chef who cooked for us did tell us that they had a lot of call offs so he was a sushi chef cooking for us. We love the fried rice but this time it was super dry like he let it cook for too long. But overall the meal was enjoyable. We were a group of 2 adults and 5 kids including a 1 year old who disliked seeing fire.

Sakanaya was a recommendation from a friend who frequented and lived in the area. The food looked mighty yummy when it came out but flavor was underwhelming, I ordered the steak with a side of shrimp for dinner. Both came out cold, with minimal flavor. Had to pour extra teriyaki sauce on top to give it the flavor. The fried rice was different as it was made with bacon. Miso soup was delicious, and didn’t disappoint. Wouldn’t come again as there are other places to visit and try.

This place is a scam. A lot of fried stuff, pretending they give you a lot of seafood (the tempura was insipid, btw). The soup is some kind of transparent water (some days, if you are lucky enough, they pour some cloudy substance). Sauces are diluted with vinegar, so thin you can barely taste them (except the special one, Sriracha-mayo). They charge you for any extra ingredient in your mediocre small bowl of rice. The presentation for bento boxes can easily fool you. It looks like a lot of good food, right? Only breaded zucchini-sweet potato-onion! Only four skinnier shrimp hidden in a bunch of veggies for a $30-35 entree! You end up paying over $100 for two people, wondering why you did such a stupid thing? It's better if you order only appetizers; they give you 6 shrimp for $13 something.

Dinner and a show! Teppenyaki is really fun especially if you have kids. The food with a show is a great way to keep kids engaged during mealtime and once the food is served it's tasty enough to keep everyone occupied. Some of the chefs had disco balls and music which was cool my son kept looking over to those tables and even though our table didn't have the lights our chef was still able to captivate my sons attention. Service was fast, friendly, and fun. I'm sure this won't be my last birthday here.

We made an online reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday night for a party of nine, including young kids. Upon arrival, they said someone forgot to turn off their online reservation system so it would be another 30 minutes. After 30 minutes had passed, they told us it would be an additional 20 minutes. When an hour had passed, we were told it would be at least another 30 minutes. The hostess blamed the management for not managing the reservation system. We had kids who were nearly in tears after waiting an hour and still not being seated. We left and are going to Wassabi on Fire to give them our business instead. The kind of treatment we received here was beyond unacceptable. Do not waste your time at this place.

Haven’t been here in forever but I am so glad we made our way through, not only was the food amazing but he really brought the place back to life the service from our chef Anxster was phenomenal. It was my daughters birthday and he made it so much fun for all of us, I will not return unless I call and make sure he’s there working our table!

We had a great time here at Sakanaya! Ann and her entire team bring not just dinner to your table, but an enveloping experience as well. My favorite thing, while watching the tables idea chef work his magic, is watching the reaction on folks faces. The food was excellent! My wife and I chose the dinner for two so that we could sample several entrees. I highly recommend.
