California Tacos hit it out of the park! From the moment I walked in, the nostalgic atmosphere and the sound of Selena's music set the tone for a fantastic experience. Not only did I enjoy a delicious burrito, but the complimentary cup of soup from the friendly staff sealed the deal. I couldn't resist trying their chicken soup too, and both dishes were absolutely outstanding. If you're in the Central Valley and craving authentic Mexican food, California Tacos is a must-visit. They easily score a perfect 10 out of 10 in my book!

Went there with a friend who was treating me to lunch. We got three shrimp tacos and one carnitas and two chicken soups! Eat the tacos and saved the soup for later! Tacos ok but the chicken soup was horrible! They took canned veggies- veg all out the can and boiled chicken as their soup! No real chicken flavor. How hard is it to make a real chicken soup! I can’t recommend this place to anyone! I had high hopes!

My husband picked up food for us from here today. I got the tacos birria which came with the consume, pickled carrots/onions/peppers (they were tangy and great). My husband got a carnitas burrito. When ordering, my husband was given a little cup of soup while waiting. He said it was amazing. The tacos get soggy pretty fast BUT they were so full of flavor, hot, had some crunch, and were drizzled with an additional sauce. I have no complaints and will be returning soon!! Husband said the burrito was good too and the owners were great!

If you were to ask me to rate this place a couple years ago when they had a location in the Shields area, this would be an easy 5/5. Tacos California put me on to the best quesabirria I've ever had. However, ever since they moved locations to Brawley, their quality has gone a bit down, but still enjoyable. Located in the Chevron gas station, this spot serves solid Mexican street food. My go-to is the quesabirria combo, which comes with three quesa tacos, a side of consome, and some side carrots and grilled onions. Upon my recent visits, the tacos were a little on the burnt side and lacked the flavor that I am used to. Additionally, the tacos get soggy quickly if you don't eat it right away (however, I don't think this is their fault). The meat can also be hit or miss, where one day they can melt in your mouth or be tough. On the other hand, the consome and side veggies are packed with flavor and seasoned really well. Overall, you still get plenty of food for the price and quality service. Just can be a little more consistent. Definitely recommend checking out!

Herndon/Brawley on the Chevron lot. WORST service ever. on Friday March 1st was our first phone order and that was taken incorrectly but they fixed it. We did another phone ordered again on Saturday March 2nd but this time the order taker Daniel was in such a hurry to take it that I knew it was going to be wrong since it was a special order so before hanging up I wanted the order repeated back to me but then he said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes then he hung up! so of course my order was wrong! I called back and spoke to Daniel and to sum it all up he said that he had to hurry up and take the order because he had other customers in line. I spent over$60 on this order so I guess phone customers are not customers. I was hoping to speak with the taco truck owner about this rude employee he has working for him. I will not be returning. Now to find a good taco truck with good service in NW area.

Just a little taco truck with standard mexican food, a couple levels better than the fast food drive thru mexican restaurants around the area. In the nachos underneath the top layer of cheese theres some yellow nacho cheese sauce which I personally enjoy, i’d probably go back for the nachos if the top layer of cheese was more melted.

Very disappointed and definitely not coming back. The tacos were EXTREMELY greasy and not edible. The tacos were drenched in oil. The tacos de cabeza were 50% fat. And the asada meat was not fresh.Salsa was good though.

The service customer was decent, but the servers forgot to give me my beverage; also, the spicy shrimp taco was definitely not worth the 9$. Furthermore, they lathered my tacos in avocado sauce. Some people are somewhat allergic... not a great experience

Great service and excellent timely manner for receiving food! Now onto the food, my girlfriend and I ordered 8 total asada tacos, the flavor was there and not bland, the only issue we had with the tocos was that the tortilla was falling apart due to the grease and masked some of the flavors. Condiments: Salsa's we're amazing great flavor to heat ratio. The guacamole was bland in flavor, yet they did kill the texture!
