I ordered the chicken katsu and the bbq beef. The portions are good. But you have to know that they pound the chicken pretty thin here so you get more breading than chicken. The flavor was good. I was not expecting the texture of the beef to similar to the beef in a Chinese beef broccoli dish. Plus there is a lot of gristle that the kids couldn't chew and eat. The quality of the beef wasn't good.

Absolutely delicious, enough for me to come into help and leave a review. IMO, it gave me a little touch of Hawaii without actually being in there... because unfortunately we can't book an island vacation with bills looming around the corner if you know what I mean . (I ordered a loco moco plate and a musubi)

Yum so good - coconut shrimp, bbq mix , sweet lemon ice tea + musubi - quick service, super clean and nice to sit inside with cute unique touches like this seagull :)

This place just opened and I've been coming here pretty often for my Hawaiian food. The food is well made and always good. I would say the portion size is about slightly above average, but what really makes this place nice is the price. I got a katsu plate with a decent portion of Katsu, rice, shredded cabbage, and an extra scoop of macaroni for less than 12$. Every Hawaiian place charges 14-15$ for a plate nowadays and I'm happy this place is a bit more forgiving on the wallet!

I have tried Joy Hawaiian twice for lunch. The first time I had their Crispy Combo, which is fried shrimp, chicken katsu, white rice, and mac salad. The portion was very generous! The chicken was average, not quite juicy enough, and sort of bland. The shrimp was pounded super thin and very dried out. I was given three pieces of shrimp, and I only choked down one of them. I did like their mac salad. I decided to give them another shot and try their fried rice. I went with their combo option (shrimp, bbq chicken, & bbq beef) so I could try the various proteins they offer, I also got an order of gyoza. $5 for 6 pieces of gyoza isn't bad! They were good, had a nice pork filling. They were fried, not steamed. I would get them again! The fried rice is what will keep me coming back here. The container is enough to feed a family of 4, or lunch for me for multiple days! And depending on what protein you get, it's $10 - $12, so a really good deal! Shrimp were wonderful - large, plump, juicy, great tasting. The chicken and beef were good, but I got multiple pieces with fat or gristle, which I cannot handle. The rice itself was moist, fluffy, and seasoned perfectly. I asked for soy sauce packets, but didn't need them. I did add some sriracha for a kick, but it was honestly fine without it. See you again, Joy! I'll be back for shrimp fried rice and gyoza for sure!

i eat alot of chicken katsu everywhere so i know. trust me. i cant feel any skin or slimy stuff in the chicken katsu. and the slices are perfectly same size with every cut. soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and its delicious! other famous chain places and local stores are ok but not as good as this. place is bomb and its cheap as hell! i got two regular size chicken katsu and it was $24!! thats loke price of one chicken katsu these days! try it! joy hawaiian please keep this quality!!!!

ahhh. . I wanted to like this place because it's nearby & price is cheaper compared to other hawaiian joints around, but unfortunately my first experience was a bit disappointing. I ordered the Mahi Mahi combo, & the fish was soooo overcooked :/ . The texture was hard instead of being crispy and was unenjoyable to eat. If not for that I probly would've rated better, because everything else tasted fine. If I do go back I'd try the bbq chicken instead, but definitely not for the fish as I know another place where they cook the fish right.

Found this place today and shared a grilled chicken and bbq beef combo. The meat was delicious. Came with rice and macaroni salad. Portions were enough for 2 of us to share. The only thing it was missing was grilled veggies to be perfect. The staff were very friendly.Would definitely go back again.

I loved the coconut shrimp, huge pieces and a great sauce to coat it. The Mac salad was seasoned well too. I added chicken katsu to try and it was pretty standard. Besides the rice being a bit dry everything else was good!

I want to say that for the PRICE, this place delivers but the quality of the food could be a bit better and would make me a regular. The rice was on the dry side and the salad named as a part of the menu was just shredded cabbage which I would have loved with a bit of sauce. With that said, my wife and I can easily eat until our stomachs are full with only 10$.
