I had not eaten at the Hungry Bear in years. In the 1990s it was my Father's favorite restaurant. We ate there last week before going to the Maverick theater for a show. PROS Quick service. We were seated quickly and served quickly. Prices are reasonable Portions are large. Cons The menu is a okay, but heavy meals seem to be the speciality. I would go there again.
I bought a Groupon for 'experience for two' and was so happy with service and food quality. It came with a bottle of wine, 2 speciality steaks and 2 deserts and is great value for your money. Portion size is very generous, garlic bread that comes with the meals is delicious! Special shout out to Katie who took care of all our dining needs with poise and was very professional and friendly! Definitely recommend!
Butterfly shrimp, fried chicken, and delicious gravy. Their ranch is too die for. And if that wasn't enough you'll fall in love with the homely decor. Cute bears everywhere. I feel like I'm at boutique restaurant in big bear.
