Not surprised it closed down. Ever since the owner changed, the quality of food went to shit.

My favorite sushi place! I like their miso soup. The cabbage salad is my favorite. And no other sushi place I’ve gone to has it. I usually get the California tempura roll with spicy Mayo on the side. I’ve tried other dishes as well. I like how they bring out the miso soup and edamame to enjoy while you wait for your sushi. The jalapeño bomb is soo good if you like a spicy appetizer! It’s worth it. My youngest sister loves the fried gyozas. My husband enjoys their sushimi and sushi. Never had a bad experience here before. Always my go to sushi restaurant!

I've been coming here every since I was a kid and I loved every single visit as it brought back great memories. This is the place to go to for Japanese cuisine in Garden Grove. They have a variety of dishes from sushi to bento boxes.Monkey Roll (5/5): I get this roll everytime because it has everything on it from salmon and tuna to crab and shrimp.Miyako Udon (5/): This udon soothes your soul with its perfectly rich broth. For $14, definitely a steal.BSCR Roll (5/5): Baked Scallop California Roll. Idk why but this place makes the best BSCR ever!

We drove there during the middle of open hours (1:30pm on a Sunday) only for it to be closed. It had said open online and on their paper posted out front but the doors were locked and no one came to the door nor answered the phone. Not sure what happened since there was no notice on the door but what a waste of time for us.

Food was very good, and fresh. And very reasonably priced. I had the TNT plus spicy garlic edamame I would highly recommend

I just came in with my girlfriend and the girl was so rude , she said something to us so we expected to follow her to table .. then she told us in the most rudest way that the table is not done yet with a mad face … horrible service ..

Pretty good Japanese restaurant. It's seems to be a popular family neighborhood restaurant located in a shopping mall. Quality of the food is above average and quantity is also above average. Fairly priced for what you get. I probably would come back here but it's a bit of a drive for me coming from Irvine.

I’ve only eaten here once and I don’t think I’ll be coming back. The only reason I didn’t give 1 star is because the service was good and it was a pleasant little spot. That said, that was the worst sushi I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a LOT of different sushi restaurants. I ordered the scallop roll and the miyako roll because it looked and sounded delicious but it was SO bad. The rice was both undercooked and mushy (I mean, how?) Every time I picked up a roll with my chopsticks, it fell apart. The tuna(?) that topped the roll was dry and had the taste/consistency of ground turkey, but worst of all, the salmon was grey! I was very disappointed with the food, even more so because those two rolls alone cost me over $30.

Perhaps when my friend and I went for lunch here, it was an off-day for the restaurant. We went on a Friday around 3pm, so it was just the two of us in the restaurant. The two special roll items we wanted to order, 'the calapop roll' and the 'super crab crunch roll' was not available. Our server suggested other rolls that were close to those we wanted, but it did not taste good. The taste and texture of the rolls were disappointing. It was a weird mesh of flavors that didn't go well together. And the 'beef yaki soba' was also disappointing. I don't know if there's a curry flavor with the noodles and I don't know if that's common? The miso soup was okay. But I can't recommend this place, and it left a bad taste (pun totally intended) for us, so I don't think we would even return to try this place again. The food was overall, so disappointing.

I went to Miyako with my friend that was born and raised in Japan. She said that the food at Miyako is not authentic Japanese food, and that she ate very differently while she was growing up in Japan. So apparently the Japanese food at Miyako is very Americanized. I'm not Japanese and I've never been to Japan. Maybe that's why I loved the food at Miyako since they adjusted their food for the American palate. My Japanese friend told me that in Japan they have no California Roll or Chapman Roll but they have both at Miyako. I had the California Roll, the Dragon Roll and the egg rolls, all of which were very tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I've have to remember to try the Chapman Roll the next time I eat here :-).

I placed over $100 for togo order, paid cash and received tiny free miso soup. I asked lady at front cashier that I ordered for 4 so if I can get 4 free miso soup. My request got rejected. it's not much for restaurant to give free miso soup, but they should consider customers service.

We were there a couple of days ago because we want something light for lunch around the area and decide to give this place a try. The food was ok, fish doesn't taste as fresh. The rock and roll roll was good, but the cucumber roll was too loaded with imitation crab and little fish. Price was average like other sushi joints, if not higher. The miso soup was free, but there is not a sight of tofu. The server was nice and friendly, but it does take a while to get our food. If we are in the area, we might consider coming back, but otherwise, we probably won't be back for sushi.
