Finally tried this place yesterday, food was excellent! Probably the best Japanese curry since Curry House closed. The yakisoba and okonomiyaki are also so delicious and reminded me of Japan! Went to buy food today and come to find out they are closing permanently on October 1... so sad now... Wish I would've eaten here sooner and/or at least helped them in marketing their business. It's difficult to find exceptional Japanese curry and Osaka style food around here. Hope they open somewhere else...

Teppan Tarou is located in the food court inside Tokyo Central! I ordered some curry take-out and was very impressed that a simple curry dish could be absolutely rich, savory and delicious. You don't even need an additional side because the curry really carry this dish. However, having the pork cutlet and fried shrimp gives the dish a nice "crunch". They make it as order so the fried side is very crispy and warm. I also love how the container separates the ingredients so the rice doesn't get soggy. A great place to check out before or after shopping. It's a nice treat!

I came in during lunch and ordered the pork katsu! An older gentleman greeted men and helped me right away. He pronounced it properly as katsu kare too and his manners reminded me of the time when I was in Japan and being greeted by nice Japanese people! Anyway, I watched him breaded the katsu and fried it in front of me. He used a double broiler for the curry to make sure the curry doesn't get burned from the bottom. After that, he handed me the food to my table and gave extra utensils. The food was delicious and the curry was the star of the dish. Customer service was perfect and the environment felt home-y.

I absolutely loved the Pork Katsu Curry, as it had perfectly fried and sized pork cutlet pieces, as well as an amazing curry flavor that paired well with the meat and rice. Everything was made fresh, and the food was served in really cute packaging. If I were ever in the area, I would definitely come back again for more

I wish I had a photo to share but my hunger got the best of me and before I knew it.. ALL GONE. This place is so cute! I don't know why I'd never noticed it before considering how much I come to this Tokyo Central. I order the sausage and asparagus/bacon skewer just to try it and now I can't wait to come back and order more items from here. The older man working the register here is also so kind. I love that he came out of the restaurant to personally hand me my bag and tell me to have a nice day. A lot of these restaurants can learn from this mans hospitality right here.

Very helpful service - I asked about vegetarian-friendly options and found a delicious option. Definitely coming back.

Located inside Tokyo Central is this gem of a restaurant. They serve delicious Japanese comfort food like okonomiyaki (Japanese Savory Pancake) and curry rice. I had the chance to try out their okonomiyaki with everything inside (Price $17.99) and it was well worth it! The okonomiyaki is made fresh right in front of your face and it was jam packed with ingredients ranging from squid to octopus to pork belly to cabbage. It was generously toppped with okonomiyaki sauce, japanese mayo, bonito flakes and seaweed seasoning. The umami that this dish packed was incredible. I will definitely be coming back for their okonomiyaki and trying out their different dishes! Quality: 5/5 You can really taste the care and thought they put into their food! Service: 5/5 Amazing service, quick and super friendly! Price: 4.5/5 It's on the pricier side but definitely well worth it

It's hard to find good Japanese curry but I am happy to say that I recently found a place that knows how to make delicious Japanese curry. That place is no other than Teppan Tarou. Teppan Tarou is located at the food court area of Tokyo Central and Main. One cannot miss it as it is right up front when you enter the food court.. You wouldn't want to miss it either because they offer quite a variety of Japanese dishes. One can find yakisoba, kushiage okonomiyaki and curry dishes. They make the dishes fresh right after you order. You can even watch the chef prepare the dish on the teppan. I got their Pork Katsu Curry Rice dish and was recently impressed. It was thick, tasty and perfect with the crisp pork katsu. It was very fulfilling. Overall I enjoyed my curry dish so much that I am looking forward to getting another curry dish here in the future. I also am curious to try some of their kushiage (deep-fried skewered meat and vegetables)

Great Japanese comfort food! I stop by every time I'm in the area. As they are prepared by experience Japanese chefs, their food tast just like ones I had in Japan. Highly recommended!

Ordered the omu yakisoba with pork for under $11 to go. It's yakisoba with slices of thin pork sandwiches inside an omelette with okonomiyaki sauce (a Japanese version of Worcester sauce) and mayo drizzled on top, and then with a side of red ginger. Such a classic Japanese fast food street food. They grilled it all on the big "teppan" or metal grill per order, so the omu yakisoba came out super good! The yakisoba was bomb!!!

Great deal. For the shrimp yakisoba with omelette. Delicious! Also for the pork yaikosoba w sauce. Well seasoned. Big shrimp and asparagus. Would definitely go back again!

This place reminds me if those places in Osaka that serve kushiage. I was pleasantly surprised by the food they serve. The kushiage-the food on a stick stay crunchy even after you take it home. Its refreshing to eat even though it's deep fried. The yakisoba noodles are also really good. It's hard to find good yakisoba. It's hard to balance the flavors of yakisoba without the sauce flavor overwhelming everything else-but they've done it. I went for convenience sake but ended up making it a once a week spot. You can order and do your shopping since it can take 5-10 min to finish your order. Great find.

So, i just seen this place in an ad, and i happened to be at Tokyo Central in Gardena, (the one on Redondo Beach Blvd.) near Sunmerry Bakery and Sweet Rice Thai food. Anyways, right when you walk in, to the right is the food court area and this Teppan Tarou is the first thing you see as you walk in across from Mammoth bakery. So what is Teppan Tarou, in the ad they mention they do steak, hotate (scallops), and kaki (oyster) fried. So to explain, teppan is usually a flat grill (like you see at benihana), so if you can imagine your steak cooked on a teppan, it's just a flat grill. And scallops can be cooked on the flat grill as well, the oysters are usually battered and deep fried though. So what i didn't know was till i got there, they also do kushi-katsu (which i love and is just tonkatsu pork cutlet cut into cubes and breaded on a skewer) Then it's just deep fried, but easy to eat as you just eat it right off the stick lol. So they have different types of kushi-katsu like different battered vegetables as well, and one thing i love and i miss my moms cooking is the korokke (potato croquette) which this one tastes more like the hokkaido style with vegies inside rather then your typical ground beef, and the potato had a nice rich flavor reminding me of again the rich hokkaido potatoes. It's also breaded nicely and crisp outside. It was served in the typical japanese style on a bed of sliced cabbage, and a nice touch was a lemon wedge, and of course i love the yellow mustard with the katsu sauce (a rich dark usually made from vegetable sauce used for tonkatsu). I'm giving a 5 for now because it tasted home made and you get 3 for about 6 bucks, which is a little expensive, but if you ever made them at home, you know why LOL. Anyways, give them a try, i will def be back to try more dishes mainly the steak and kushi katsu and for more korokke. I will take a pic next time, i dug into the korokke too quickly lol.
