Never a bad experience. Been going here for years. The owner is a fantastic guy. So friendly and thoughtful - very engaging. However, come for the food. Near a college, so it is a budget friendly place. Hard to pick a favorite with so many great items on the menu. I've eaten at many Hawaiian/Asian/ restaurants and this is still one of my favorites and a great price. Please be nice and generous to this business. They help in the community by feeding and supporting local groups. Great humble people.

Sushi is okay. I'm a student at el camino and i wanted to give this place a shot to see how good it is. I absolutely love sushi as well. Anyways, I grabbed the california tempura roll, and the alaskan roll. Salmon on the alaskan roll was actually pretty good. The rice was not the best.. it fell apart every time i picked a piece up because the rice wasn't sticky. The crab meat is obviously imitation and taste nasty. The taste is very concentrated like and sweet. The price of the rolls aren't cheap either. I spent $20 for those 2 rolls and I understand that sushi isn't cheap but for the quality their producing it's expensive.

Called in on a Tuesday afternoon, ordered a salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll and salmon poké bowl. Their service was great! Said it would take about 10 mins. This was my first time trying out this restaurant and it was pretty good! I'd be back again! The fish was fresh, condiments were included and a menu was placed in the bag for future orders.

Lovely family owned restaurant that is super fairly priced! As a student at El Camino College, I came and at lunch here at least once a week. Healthier than McDonald's, more affordable than anybody else. The lady that owns the place is SO sweet! She takes pictures of students who are regulars and hangs them on the wall. Just a really great place for students to eat and hang out. The food is so pretty tasty, but the best thing about this place is how much you get for your dollar. My go-to order was the poke bowl salad, the miso soup, and the spicy tuna roll. Udon and spam misubi(?) are also a great choice!

Picked up a California roll here to go. Very decent prices and good sushi. They also gave us a free snow cone which was really nice and delicious.

Great food, good portions at a reasonable price. What more can you say? I've tried a number of plates on the menu and everything has been very good, Jennifer is a talented cook.

Loved the food. Thought I ordered just enough to feed five and we recieved so much that we FEASTED. Had a variety of rolls and two different styles of ramen. Definitely check them out if your in the area and in the mood for sushi.

I used to stop by Wasabi Sushiya with my friend years ago, but have not been back in a while. My friend reminded of this place when we talked recently and he said he's been going like once a week. I decided to order it for lunch one day. During these crazy COVID times, it was also nice to support a local business. They typically are pretty busy with El Camino being across the street, but I'm sure all the restaurants near the school have been affected with classes being online. I remember them having a fish katsu that was absolutely delicious, but I think it's no longer on the menu. // FOOD // #36 Shrimp Box: 4 pieces of fried shrimp, 4 pieces of fried gyoza, California roll and your choice of either a salad or rice. It was my first time ordering this and I was very surprised at how crispy everything was even though I had it like 15-20 minutes after I picked it up. The dipping sauces were all very good as well. 4/5 Overall, I would definitely recommend supporting local businesses! Wasabi Sushiya has a large selection of different items that will please everyone. My friend said the poke is really good here so I'll try that out next time!
