I purchased a dulce de lèche cake from La Joconda Bakery for a friend's birthday and it was a major hit. Everyone loved it and even mentioned that it was better than the big popular bakery in Glendale but for the same price and without the long line. The owner is also very nice and helpful. I can't wait to go back for my next cake, the strawberry one looked amazing.

Their pastry is always fresh and yummy. The bakery smells amazing when you walk in. It's a family owned business and they are super nice.

Stopped in to pick up some of my favorite Armenian pastries. Hands down the Borek and Gata are superb here. We went to 4 other bakeries and did taste tests and will definitely continue to come back to La Joconde especially for those two items. The boreks are LOADED with filling and the gata literally melts in your mouth. It's a cute, very well branded bakery with cakes, a variety of Armenian sweet treats like gata (sweet bread), borek (fluff pastry with fillings), baklava, kourabia (shortbread cookies), handmade chocolates, wedding cakes, cupcakes, fruit tarts, alfajores and lots more. Armen (chef/owner) also does custom orders. Highly recommend stopping in if you haven't already been and checking out this family owned local French/Armenian bakery They also serve bagels, croissants and coffee.

My wife and I come for the cookies - their buttery goodness keeps us coming back. The owner is a kind and sincere man and we enjoy our visits with him. The prices are quite reasonable, and some times he will throw in a little free chocolate with our order.

Just as the other reviews had mentioned, the strawberry charlotte was a HIT at our birthday party. Everyone even asked where I got this cake from and that they were going to go here to pick up this cake specifically for the next party. So just get it!!! And look how beautiful it is! Good price as well, for two 8" cakes it was only $78! Friendly business too.

Needed a cake to celebrate my son's birthday. Stopped into La Joconde and met Armen, the owner and bought a chocolate cake. Armen gave my daughter a cookie for her good behavior and we went on our way. When it was cake time at the house, everyone commented on how delicious the cake was. We will be regulars at La Joconde. Thanks for cake and cookies Armen.

The guy is so nice here. My daughter keeps asking to come here, and every time we do, the gentleman who works here throws in something extra. It's a little treasure in LA Crescenta.

Super flavorful authentic pastries, cakes are light and fluffy and never. Purchased twice from them and both times the cakes were a hit! Everyone was commenting on the Parisian chocolate cake!

So yes, just walking looking for some coffee to keep me going for what's going to be a long busy day. Donut shop? Usually fine. But my eye caught this unique sign and said , now we're talking!Spent a good twenty minutes checking out what's inside, a charming French inspired pastry and cake shop. Apparently it's THE place for local Armenian Americans for getting their pastries on. Coffee and pastry is a common cultural thing and if you want a pastry chef owned and operated shop, this is indeed the place.Armand is Chef and owner, polite easy going family man.?Been at it for over twenty years I'm guessing and it shows. Tables outside for sitting so if it's raining don't plan on staying to enjoy a top notch Latte made with professional excellence. Coffee is robust and has an authentic aroma and flavor, been to Italy and France so I'm using my travel experiences to judge the quality. Starbucks is fine, this is better more authentic and slightly less price wise. I'm going to enjoy my spinach feta turnover, give the Auto shop a small box of pastries to get on their hood side, then saving the rest for later. Peach and pair tarts , a bit of this and that. Come see, experience the magic of this little place of French Armenian pastries. Worth the drive if your even an hour away. But come early or call to reserve or order a cake or something you fancy, they sell out by the end of the day. 8am-8pm Monday-Friday, open Sunday as well but close a 7pm. Like all fresh baked goods, bread or pastries I'd recommend mornings if you want the best he has to offer. Will hopefully be back, enjoyed my visit, was like I was back in small French village. If only he spoke French I'd call it a mini vacation, as it was I will say it was a real pleasure doing buisness with you Chef.

The pastries are amazing. It's probably one of the best pastries I have ever had. Their cake (half chocolate and half vanilla) is beyond amazing. All of my guests loved the cake so much when I had my get-together recently at our house. The workers were all professional and were able to answer all my questions. My kids have allergies to specific nuts, they were able to address all my questions and ensure the pastry I selected would be safe for my kids.
