Grew up in Cerritos where there are plenty of spots like House of Grill, and this is my favorite ready-to-serve Filipino restaurant hands down. Food tastes home cooked. Love ordering online for pickup, and service is on point.

OMG. We've been here so often in the past several weeks, and I am more than a bit behind with my reviews. So here comes the cramming. HOUSE OF GRILL is located in a small-but-fierce strip mall with a parking lot both in front of, and behind, the shops. You can't enter the restaurant from the rear parking lot though, so you'll have to walk around and enter at the front if you parked in the back. There are a few chairs and tables inside so you can sit down and enjoy your food in comfort. HOUSE OF GRILL has a "turo-turo" (translation: point-point") set up. When you enter, you line up in front of the glass case and point to the food you'd like to order. Slide your tray on over to the cashier to pay for your selection. There are dozens of food selection on any given day, but it's not the same selection every day. Here are some of the items we've eaten in the past few weeks: SARSIADO FISH. My mom was really craving this, It's fried fish (they used golden pompano), which is then simmered in an egg and fresh tomato... sauce?... soup? Anyways, the flavors are extra! Just the fish by itself is already delicious.. but then it's simmered in those delicious flavors... mmm, mmmm. The TINOLA is a chicken soup with clear broth and some vegetables. This soup is full of flavor and so great on a cold rainy day like this. Their PORK SISIG is made from fried crispy pork belly. They're usually chopped up and some acid and chili hotness. Delicious! They have a fish version of this too called BANGUS SISIG. Instead of pork, they use milk fish. TORTA TALONG, for lack of a better translation, is eggplant omelette. The eggplant is grilled first (I've heard other people cook the eggplant a different way) until the insides are cooked well and the eggplant is very soft. Their skinned eggplant is fried with beaten eggs, ground meat and diced vegetables. They also have the famous Filipino dessert HALO HALO! Also, they have UBE SUMAN. Suman is sweet rice steamed in wrapped leaves. Definitely a great place to keep coming back for good comfort food.

It was a mistake to have breakfast here. The garlic rice for breakfast was hard as if it was scraped from the bottom of the pot. Customers don't deserve such to be served and charged for it. Not coming back. Frustrating and a waste of money

Have been here several times, including when they were at a different location in the valley. Your usual Filipino food fare where you order from ready made food and pay either by size or getting a combo. They have especially good breakfast. They have a few areas to sit and a water dispenser. The parking is a little tight in front. My favorite thing here actually is the ube halaya, delicious.

The food are all good!! And when you order party trays, they are consistent on the flavor and the amount of meat on each dish. I tried the other Filipino restaurant close to them because someone told me that their cook/chef left & opened up his own business. But it's not the same, I still love going to house of grill. The staff are so nice & friendly.I recommend the caldereta, lumpiang hubad, dinuguan, sisig bangus, shrimp lumpia, ube suman etc...

I've bought several times so it's good. Food taste and seasoning is good although beef steak is super salty. Watch out for the fried food cause they cook it early in the week and just reheat it daily until it's gone and just new stuff here and there added pending on sales. Not sure if that's acceptable and per regulations by the food government people. I don't know enough about those rules. All I know is that it's not freshly made everyday (fried foods ok). There take on the rice desserts needs more practice, the rice in their sumans or very soggy and other type of desserts stuff made of rice is not well flavored. IYKYK!!The place itself is presentable no complaints. For me, it's convenience but I do wish they prepare their food fresh everyday and no day to day reheat. Oh well just be careful of what you get and pay attention!

I have been coming here for years now and the food is delicious. Note: The pork Sisig here is good, and you can order it together as an item combo. They have friendly people who work there so service is great. The only con I can think of is it gets busy there, so sometimes you have to deal with long lines, and some of the food items rans out (squid adobo on Thursdays are the bomb). Highly recommended

This place would had been a 5 star if they would clean their area... when I come to visit family in this area. Presentation That was great the area the cleanliness where they serve the food was very clean!!! The food was amazing the flavors where how my grandma would cook our food to its best! I got the chicken with tomato soup "apritada" with garlic rice! My friend Kim ordered the BBQ on a stick! The desert was great called HaLo-Halo check out the pictures to see the flavors they have! I hardly get Filipino food but when I do I get it from this place when I visit this area! The place where they serve food was so clean... did I tell you that but there is something I liked to point out is to keep your lobby of where all your customers eat clean please (please check photos). Please clean the floors, table and trash area. This is a big point off of what would had been a FIVE STARS! The service was very simple and strait to the point! Most of the servers that serve food had gloves on so that was the perk on how clean the place was in the kitchen. I recommend this place to try out as many you can and see if this Filipino hot spot is something to take a drive for!!! Price is fair and makes up for the combo deals as all the food is something to try!

Pretty decent, although there aren't prices for anything except their catering menu (no non catering menu available). The two combo plate was 12, comes with a ton of rice and a cup of broth. The person serving the food was okay, the cashier was more helpful. Not sure if the fish is suppose to be room temperature (it was next to the heated food) but thats how I received it. Wasen't sure what anything was, none of the food was labeled. The kabob was great though.

We saw House of Grill in Garnada Hills while visiting friends and decided to check it out. House of Grill had many dishes on display for us to pick from. Since it was our first time, we didn't really know what was going on. We were asked if we wanted a combo or individual dishes, since combo came with rice and 3 items, we thought that was a good idea.We randomly picked 6 items... Oh you expect us to remember what we got? Ok ok, we shall try. Pork sisig, pork adobo, beef picadillo, kare kare, bbq chicken, and sweet and sour fish. We also asked for kare kare sauce over our white rice. Our most favorite was beef picadillo, savory, greasy, and tasty. It was perfect with rice. Our least favorite was sweet and sour fish, cold, chewy, barely any fish inside the batter. Nasty. We also got halayan ube, and it wasn't overly sweet. Very good dessert.Overall, the food was just alright, but the service was friendly and filled with warmth. We would recommend to try it at least once, and more if you get the right items.
