Grew up in Cerritos where there are plenty of spots like House of Grill, and this is my favorite ready-to-serve Filipino restaurant hands down. Food tastes home cooked. Love ordering online for pickup, and service is on point.

OMG. We've been here so often in the past several weeks, and I am more than a bit behind with my reviews. So here comes the cramming. HOUSE OF GRILL is located in a small-but-fierce strip mall with a parking lot both in front of, and behind, the shops. You can't enter the restaurant from the rear parking lot though, so you'll have to walk around and enter at the front if you parked in the back. There are a few chairs and tables inside so you can sit down and enjoy your food in comfort. HOUSE OF GRILL has a "turo-turo" (translation: point-point") set up. When you enter, you line up in front of the glass case and point to the food you'd like to order. Slide your tray on over to the cashier to pay for your selection. There are dozens of food selection on any given day, but it's not the same selection every day. Here are some of the items we've eaten in the past few weeks: SARSIADO FISH. My mom was really craving this, It's fried fish (they used golden pompano), which is then simmered in an egg and fresh tomato... sauce?... soup? Anyways, the flavors are extra! Just the fish by itself is already delicious.. but then it's simmered in those delicious flavors... mmm, mmmm. The TINOLA is a chicken soup with clear broth and some vegetables. This soup is full of flavor and so great on a cold rainy day like this. Their PORK SISIG is made from fried crispy pork belly. They're usually chopped up and some acid and chili hotness. Delicious! They have a fish version of this too called BANGUS SISIG. Instead of pork, they use milk fish. TORTA TALONG, for lack of a better translation, is eggplant omelette. The eggplant is grilled first (I've heard other people cook the eggplant a different way) until the insides are cooked well and the eggplant is very soft. Their skinned eggplant is fried with beaten eggs, ground meat and diced vegetables. They also have the famous Filipino dessert HALO HALO! Also, they have UBE SUMAN. Suman is sweet rice steamed in wrapped leaves. Definitely a great place to keep coming back for good comfort food.

It was a mistake to have breakfast here. The garlic rice for breakfast was hard as if it was scraped from the bottom of the pot. Customers don't deserve such to be served and charged for it. Not coming back. Frustrating and a waste of money

A colleague recommended this Pinoy eatery...Very overpriced! Deceptive false advertising....Three item combo and lumpia Shanghai,(a dozen) set me back $25.46!! I was advised of the $4.75 charge on them..no issue with those. It says $13.50 for 3 item combo ...do the math..with L.A. sales tax , how does that compute to $25.46?Ripped me off extra $5!!Guess, that'll go to employees...maybe, I, as the customer now am charged Newsom's new wage increase ..Omg! Stingy on the rice, considering 3 items I paid for...probably could've thrown in another scoop. Not like they were going to lose 10 cents on bloody cost.Pompano stew barely had any soup in it and the tiniest fish piece!Just outrageous and they even charged me for sabo...what the heck? Probably charged extra $5 on seafood...might have informed me ahead of paying..just so famished.Did the cashier make an error and overcharged me?I'd just driven from my second home in the mountains and starved! To add insult to injury, there were 2 pieces of hair in the pusit...lady tried to tell me oh..It's part of the squid!! Did you think I just fell out of a turnip truck? I'm not blind.I must say it was tasty and guess the premium was kinda worth it, less strands of hair.Next time if I'll ever venture that way ( was going to dentist after), I'll go to that place Lillian's ...decent reviews .Valleyites....Thank God I reside in the South Bay and will stick to my Carson hangouts! This place is a rip-off and also frequent Historic Filipino town...Never again!!

Most definitely great food and beautiful set up on the turo-turo (point-point) window as long as you’re not expecting a cheerful service from the servers. No complaints about the food and atmosphere but maybe they can do better on giving the joyful and enthusiastic welcome and interactions to customers and supporters. Get a little giddy and lively gurlfwends and give us that we’re glad you’re here type of feeling ?Parking: Ample parking shared by the nearby stores

Have been here several times, including when they were at a different location in the valley. Your usual Filipino food fare where you order from ready made food and pay either by size or getting a combo. They have especially good breakfast. They have a few areas to sit and a water dispenser. The parking is a little tight in front. My favorite thing here actually is the ube halaya, delicious.

One of the best filipino restaurant in the valley! I'm their regular now. Will recommend it to anyone!

Delicious! The people working were so friendly and had great recommendations. Everything we got was so good, and the desserts were phenomenal. I will be back for sure.We got sweet and sour fish, a BBQ pork dish, a dish with beef and onion (I forgot the names, I'm sorry), and two of the desserts they recommended one with ube and the other a rice with a cream on top

Their food and service is always maintained good. They know what to do. The place is not big or small. Just enough.
