My wife and I first found Monarch Grove on a trip to Pismo Beach searching for local wineries. We found their Groupon deal and paid a visit, which we were utterly charmed by. We love the proximity to the Amtrak station, the delicious, fruit-forward flavor of their wine, and how they are a small, local operation. We soon joined their membership club and ordered their wine all the way back to Los Angeles for our wedding, which our guests absolutely loved. We'd absolutely recommend Monarch Grove.

What a gem, a special little find! This is a newly owned, small boutique winery with a focus on creating a high quality, low tannin craft wine at a reasonable price. The Chardonnay was my favorite. Check Groupon for a great deal. The tasting room is right next to the train station. The interior is light and airy. The new owners are proud of their wines and their enthusiasm is contagious. They are extremely knowledgeable, personable and excited to share their special place with the public. I just want to see them and their business grow and be prosperous. We can't wait for a return visit to see our new friends.

Didn't go in, so tiny. Probably great, but we were hoping for a vineyard, should have looked it up. Drove by and saw the dog inside, yay! We had our pup too, maybe next trip we'll check it out

Small little place near the monarch butterfly grove. Did the tasting for $12, the lowest in the area, think I only did five of the six wines though :( But really hospitable owner, been doing wines for twelve years now with his wife. Love the blended wine the best!

We stopped in for a tasting and really enjoyed our visit. Joe was kind and easy to talk to, not to mention incredibly knowledgeable! We were very impressed with their wines and bought a few bottles to take home and enjoy later. Thank you Joe!

What a lovely, quaint little wine tasting room. We were greeted by the friendly tasting room dog, Max. From there we enjoyed 6 delightful tastings poured by the wine maker. Our favorites were She Said Red and He Said Red as well as the Cab Frac! This is definitely a place we will visit again next time we're in the area.

We tasted 6 wines and all were good. The rose and the She Said red blend were our favorites, but the Chard, the He Said red blend, and Petite Sirahs were also good. What was really nice is that 6 tastings were $12 in an area where every other winery in the area is $20 or more for as little as 4 tastings, most are $25 or more. I have a very hard time understanding why tastings are so high when most tastings equal about a glass, some a little more, some a little less. So we visit far fewer tasting rooms and are exposed to far fewer wines and thus buy far fewer wines at wineries. By the way, Monarch's tasting room is at the train station in Grover Beach at the corner of Grand and Hwy 1.

Some tasty wines, Joe was very nice and was happy to tell us all about the wines, and Max the dog is a sweetheart. Definitely worth a tasting, and worth taking a couple of bottles home.

Such a cute place and as everyone has said, the owners and pup are the sweetest! Great wines to boot, we really enjoyed the She Said and He Said reds.

We recently moved to the area from Southern California and Monarch was our first weekend winery that we visited after moving. We have been back many times since our first visit and we enjoy it each time even more than the last. My husband and I even brought my parents to Monarch when they came to visit. It is a cute and quaint tasting room and many of the wines are lovely and delicious. The best part however are the owners-Cheri and Joe. They are kind, down to earth and funny. We have always enjoyed our time here and especially our pleasant chats with Cheri, Joe and some of the regular customers.

Very nice wines in an unusual location. Not your typical Chardonnay, Muscat or Pinot Noir. Only $10 for a flight of six wines. Worth a stop and taste.

Monarch Grove winery (shares lot at Grove Beach Amtrak Station parking lot. Make a note of this if you are going to visit. GPS plays a trick on you, and sends you to a grassy patch of land.) This location is not an uppity foo foo type of place. Perfect when hoping from beach to beach. Yelp rating . Very chill atmosphere like, Cheers where everybody knows your name. Not only did we learn how to eat cake (spoiler alert, with a fork. IYKYK) we got to try some great wines, (we all bought quite a few bottles), received a free personality test, obtained culinary secrets, learned a cool cork trick, met John, and got free private protection from Max the dog. From me and my girls, thank you Joe and Cherrie, your location was fun, you're wine delicious, and you both are great people. We had so much fun. Location added to my favorites for future road trips.

We were in Pismo Beach for our anniversary and we stopped by the tasting room. Nice environment with plenty of natural light flooding in through the large windows while we sat at the wine tasting bar. The woman managing the bar was cordial, and engaging with conversation while we savored a couple of glasses of red wine. Ended up buying a bottle for our wine rack at home. Great way to spend an hour just sipping wine and enjoying the conversation. Looking forward to going back.
