I was pretty impressed with the quality of the food and the freshness. Tasted very delicious, my whole family was satisfied and everyone went for seconds and some thirds. If your in Hayward and you want to eat some tasty Chinese food, then go to China

I've been in Hayward for over a decade and I've never given this place a chance because it is pretty divy which is insane because I love hole-in-the-walls. Not to mention, a lot of high rated Hayward establishments have been underwhelming for me whether it be the local taqueria or the go-to pho joint. I must say though, China Kitchen is a notch above the rest when it comes to ABC (American Born Chinese) fast food. + (5/5) Sweet & Sour Fish fillet, amazing batter... you can taste the spices in it and they coat it with a well balanced sweet and sour sauce with pineapple chunks! It's not your typical sugar with red 40 food coloring + (3.5/5) Honey Walnut Shrimp, for those of us who aren't sugar fiends it was a decent balance, it was more mayo than honey but the shrimp was still plump and crisp. It was a mid dish for me but nonetheless good for dieters like myself + (5/5) Scrambled eggs with shrimp was amazingly! The eggs were tender, the shrimp was bouncy and it had peas, carrots and onions. So freaking good, without overdoing anything. Note: I'm an egg whore + (4/5) Salt & Pepper Squid was plentiful, crunchy and the seasoning was salty and savory but wasn't as spicy as I would've liked even though the presence of jalapeños were there. I think the seeds were scooped out so the bite was very mild + (4.5/5) Kung Pao Shrimp was great as well, nice plump garlicky shrimp is a spicy kung pao sauce with big chunks of zucchini, carrots and crunchy (not stale per usual) peanuts that you'd find elsewhere. Only complaint is that I'd love more veggies! + (4/5) Garlic Noodles w/ Shrimp had great garlic flavor on the shrimp itself and good umami on the noodles, it wasn't the Thanh Long type of garlic noodles though. More like garlic chow mein. - (2/5) Shrimp Egg Foo Young wasn't for me. Maybe if they separated the gravy it would be better but when I had it for takeout the eggs were super soggy and extra oily. I wouldn't recommend this aside from the crisp and bouncy shrimp. Highly recommended spot for a hole in the wall.

Well, let me start off by saying I haven't had China kitchen in a while. Wanted some good house fried rice and that's what I got it was fresh. The only thing I don't like about the rice is that they have peas in it I like vegetables but I just don't like the sweet peas so I had to pick them out but it the rice was still good , I also had a order of orange chicken that was really good as well.... Service was pretty fast. I ordered over the phone and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Drove there. Got a park in the front. It wasn't real busy today. It was almost closing time. And about an hour. The ambience was cool, but I didn't dine in I had takeout so I could enjoy it at home

I can't wait to try their dishes. I love their food! The garlic shrimp noodle was amazing. I'd give them 5 stars but I had to park across A street (across from the restaurant) parking is not an easy option.

food is always great here love the authentic flavor. Everyone there works really hard and still manage to be very friendly. It's a mom and pop spot so you pretty much have an idea of what all the hidden gems look like on the inside.

Great old school mom n pop kitchen with good food for decent price. I love their hot sour soup. Theyve been there for many years and their clients have frequented their establishment for ages. This is the best for togo that doesn’t break the bank.

This is our go to spot for Chinese takeout! The first time we tried this spot was on Christmas Day last year and they were one of the very few places open. The couple that own the shop are so sweet and caring and whenever we call, it's always cheerful! We always get at least one order of the honey walnut shrimp. They have the perfect amount of batter, it's crispy, and they give you big pieces of shrimp! The orange peel chicken is definitely more tangy than other orange chicken and while it's not my personal favorite, my family really likes it! Their lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken are both good too. They make their food really saucey in the best way! There isn't really indoor dining, but takeout is super convenient. It usually takes 10-15 minutes after I call in for everything to be ready and they always give us extra chili sauces. I will always be a fan of this place!

Someone stole my credit card and ran up a lot of money here via transactions. When I tried to call and ask about it, they suddenly didn't understand what I was saying. SKETCHY.

Someone stole my credit card downtown and ran up a LOT of money at this restaurant within an hour of the theft. They obviously do not check IDs or ask for CC PIN numbers. When I tried to call and ask about the transactions, they said "no manager" and pretended like they didn't understand me. SKETCHY! Stay away!!
