Just celebrated Korean new year with my son's school by reading a book and bringing in rice cake from here! Ordered the honey rice cake balls that come in three colors - so good and perfect - like a soft Korean gusher! The ingredients are rice flour, sugar, salt, soybean oil, and water and luckily we had no allergies in the class. It was a big hit with the teachers and staff. And of course the kids! Even some non Asian kids asked for seconds! For orders, you have to order 10 pounds (each packet is a pound) minimum for $95. But if you don't want that much, you can call the week of and ask them what they have that week and then order then (they bake the goods depending on the demand that week). Pickup is easy as they have a small driveway you can park in or street parking.

I was craving rice cakes filled with sesame and sugar one day and was ecstatic to find out that one of the best rice cake places in the Bay Area was near me. When I went in around Sunday 7am, the owners were busy making bulk orders but kindly paused to show me a few of their small selections for sale. Sadly, no honey rice cake was available for the day but after asking, they advised to call beforehand to confirm what they have in stock that day since the menu changes each day. It’s a good idea since it seemed like their hours vary based on what I read from the notice on the door. Bring cash.I picked up two (pictured) rice cakes and they were both warm, soft, and delicious. I will be returning for more.I really wanted to eat real honey rice cake, not the hard honey rice cake sold in the market, so I luckily found a traditional rice cake shop nearby, so I rushed to it in the morning. There was no honey rice cake on the day, but unfortunately I bought Injeolmi and Kongtteok with anko and was not disappointed. This is the taste I used to eat in Korea as a child. Thank you to the owner who works hard from dawn to make delicious rice cakes for Koreans in other places. I hope you do it for a long time. You are already loved in Northern California, but I hope you will prosper even more.

I'm a loyal customer who goes on purpose in South San Jose. It's a really good neighborhood rice cake restaurant in Seoul, a steamed restaurant. In particular, it is the only rice cake shop in Northern California that properly tastes Korean rice cakes, including Injeolmi, glutinous rice cakes, honey rice cakes, songpyeon, sliced rice cakes, nutritious rice cakes, and bar rice cakes. There are days when he makes rice cakes at dawn or all night, so when I go in the morning, he always looks tired, but I really like the owner and his wife who always respond in a kind manner that makes me feel better.I swept it today too,Look at the one-star review below and leave a five-star cheering car~Please make delicious rice cakes for a long time!

I was here last week for Korean rice cakes, aka dduk. Having dduk is a New Year's tradition for Koreans, and we came by to ring in the New Year. The customer service was incredible. The employees were super accommodating, friendly, and really went above and beyond in making sure the order was exactly what we asked for. The dduk was seasoned so well and was well made. I couldn't have been happier with the end result. I will absolutely be back in the future.

This is the first time I have been treated like this while growing my hair and spending money. No, I've never worked in a rice cake business, and it's natural that I don't know how the basics work, and while treating customers as fools for not knowing that, whether or not to make a reservation with all sorts of annoying voices, or posting detailed information on the site if it's annoying to explain, this worst customer service beyond imagination

Incredibly rude - have never been treated as badly as I was when I called to place an order. I've ordered a bunch of rice cake from other shops when I lived in the South Bay and would have been a good customer. There's no reason to get frustrated at a potential customer when they're simply asking for information. I don't see a website anywhere so how am I supposed to know what you sell or in what quantities. Seemed very annoyed that I would even call them and try to purchase something from them. Very strange.

Best and possibly the only place for Korean duuk (rice cakes). Must visit earlier in day as they run low on inventory.

Come here for any rice cake needs - especially 100th day, birthday, New Years, holidays or just rice cake cravings. It is fresh, warm and very yummy - way better than what I'd available at grocery stores. The owner is super nice and responsive - she picked up the phone even though the shop was closed that day (I think the phone number listed on yelp is her cell) and graciously took an order two days before for a 100th day birthday for my son. Super reasonable and delicious - I will be back and recommend this place to everyone! Also cash only!

Great stuff. My family's go to place when we want rice cakes in bulk. Small shop so parking can sometimes be tricky, but so worth it.
