Upon arrival, the female worker who was at the register did not acknowledge us until minutes after. She then said that they were cleaning a table for us. We stood for another 5minutes waiting. When we got seated, the server came to us and said she was going to wipe our table because they sat us at a dirty table. There was a lot of standing and talking to one another between the employees rather than attending the customer's but I will say that the food was good. Prime rib and rib eye!

Stopped to grab a quick meal. Service was terrible, but the Bacado burger was good. Frys were done perfectly. Will likely stop again, but damn the slow service was hard to accept.
A great breakfast big enough to share! The omelette we ordered had linquica sprinkled on the top. That was for decoration because it was FILLED with linquica.

Want to wholeheartedly thank the management and staff for their warm efforts in making my friend's 70th birthday party a memorable success. They were able to accommodate our party of 12 with eaze and comfort. Gina, (our server) was super friendly and very attentive to our requests.The homey ambience was comfortable and the food delicious.Gotta try a slice of their yummy looking pies on my next visit!Parking: Try to share a ride if possible.
We made the mistake of ordering rib eye steaks. The steaks were very thin. We asked for medium rare, we got well done. Vegetables were basically flavorless. I ordered fries with mine. I got what was obviously frozen fries, and they still had no flavor.I suggest you treat this place like a coffee shop... Stick with ordering breakfast.

We just had our lunch here at Casa de Fruta around last Feb. 10th and while the ambiance is excellent, the food that we ordered didn't turn out as I was expecting.My steak was so salty it looks like tons of salt were dumped or rubber into it. I hardly ate it and so with my rice contaminated by too much salt, too.I hope management hire people who really know how to cook.Food service is just OK and the lady graciously apologized.but we tried the place for the food.Parking: Ample parking.

I really wanted to like this location. The food was okay, but the disappointment was the pies. I had cherry, hubby went with chocolate cream, and son had lemon meringue. The fruit pie at a fruit stand was a disappointment, very little flavor. The lemon was redeeming but tasted previously frozen. The wait staff was great and helpful. The kids menus kept the kids engaged while we waited for food.Kid-friendliness: Kids activity menu is entertaining.

Along with the background scenery of the mountains it was enjoyable and almost felt like a small-town diner. They have vegetarian options as well.Located just outside of the town of Gilroy and with lots of attractions attached to it, the restaurant is probably not the main focus of Casa de Fruta, but for someone driving from afar the service felt nice and wasn't too overenthusiastic.Enjoy the view and the food, try to get a window seating. Your meal will feel refrshing!
