Really cool spot on the corner of Hollywood and highland. Prices on drinks are decent. The bartenders are cool. They have a menu inside that the Asian restaurant next door will bring you. There's a back patio which is cool cause you can smoke bud out back. There's a couple day boards two that you just ask for darts. Most days off went in there has been chill. Some evenings it does get packed. If you want to be somewhere in Hollywood and not be packed in a place that's a nice vibe for that while being right there in the mix of everything.

I was walking in circles looking for cold one, and just when I was about to give up (after a terrible experience at a bar just a block over), I was pleasantly surprised and fortunate in finding this gem. The fella at the door (Joe) was warm and welcoming. Cocktail list looks great, however, I opted for a beer cause that’s the mood I was in. Bartender Kwame was so pleasant, made great beer suggestions and let me sample a few before I made a final decision. Solid selection of scotch/whiskey/bourbon. It’s about 8pm on a Tuesday evening, so not a huge crowd but did meet some frequent flyers who love this spot. With dim lighting, jazz crooning from the speakers and an eclectic mix of regulars; Power House is seductive, inviting and oozing with ambiance. Exactly the chill & relaxing vibe I was looking for. I’m in the process of relocating to LA - although I do not see myself frequenting Hollywood Blvd, I will definitely be back for this place alone (I need to try the cocktails next time), and will recommend to anyone in search of a legitimate bar experience on this strip. Seriously, I’m so impressed that I’m writing this review with a 1/2 full beer at the bar.

My friend and I seated ourselves at the bar, where we ordered our drinks. The dark and moody atmosphere had a calming effect on us, and we found ourselves engaged in a lively debate about where to explore next.To our surprise, the bartender, Kate, suddenly appeared with shots and switched the music from melancholic tunes to the upbeat rhythms of the Spice Girls. Instantly, our moods lifted, and we found ourselves vibing with Kate's infectious energy. She not only served drinks but also introduced us to the other regulars at the bar, who, as it turned out, were also employees hanging out on their off-hours.The camaraderie among the staff and patrons was palpable, and we were welcomed into their circle with open arms. They shared insider tips on the best drinks to try and recommended other dive bars worth visiting in the area.Overall, our experience at this bar was nothing short of fantastic, thanks to the warm hospitality of Kate and the rest of the staff. It's rare to find such a welcoming and fun atmosphere, and I can't wait to return for more good times and great drinks!

My husband & I were just there on Saturday to watch our son's band perform. We loved it immediately. It's small, but that's part of what makes it such a good vibe in there. By the end of the night you're friends with everyone there. The lighting is perfect. Nice and dark. The drinks are delicious. Super reasonably priced to boot! Awesome selection of signature drinks. We had a great time chatting with Kate the bartender. Hi Kate! Both her and Kwame are the bees knees. The cherry on top? There was a long haired in-house chihuahua. Does it get any better? Nope. Can't wait to go back. If you're visiting LA or looking for what I will call an elevated dive bar, give Powerhouse a visit. You won't regret it. Cheers!
