The rolls and chicken satay were good but the cheese wantons are empty and super plain. Pretty expensive for the serving size

The food here was delicious! Great getting to sit and eat here because we ordered take out before. The staff was amazing and very considerate of our needs. The place is relaxing with good music. It was nice having dinner here and will be back soon!

Love this quiet and cozy space and very low key atmosphere. We usually sit at the sushi bar and try some off menu items. The chefs are all very knowledgeable and friendly, makes for a great night out.

I have experienced dining at Mahkin on multiple occasions, both during peak hours and quieter times. During my visits, I observed varying levels of service and consistency in the food quality. On my first visit, shortly after the restaurant opened, I encountered some initial challenges. The staff seemed preoccupied with setting up and cleaning, and as a result, the service was not as attentive as I had hoped for. During my second visit, I found myself needing to request ginger and wasabi, which were provided in limited quantities and did not meet my expectations in terms of portion size and freshness. I have sampled both the veggie roll and egg rolls on different occasions, and I have noticed inconsistencies in both the filling and presentation. Given the restaurant's proximity to the beach, one might expect a higher standard of sushi and service. However, my experiences have left me feeling that there is room for improvement in both areas.

I'm a sushi freak. Always looking for the best sushi and so far I think Mahkin is the best in Orange County. Fresh and delicious.

Highly recommended this place. It's reasonable price, excellent service, good quality and the best Japanese food in town.

This is our family's go to spot in Orange County. Their chow mein is hands down the best I've ever had. The staff are so friendly and kind. It is incredibly evident that they not only care about the quality of the food, but also of the environment. I'm usually not one to write reviews but this restaurant is too good not to rave about.

As the name says, the extensive menu offers both Thai and sushi dishes. My friend and I came for lunch on a weekday and I was surprised at how much longer it took for my roll to come out than hers considering we were the first people in there during the lunch hour. They did apologize for the wait time. I ordered the I Don't Rice It roll which is wrapped with cucumber instead of rice. I felt that the pieces of fish were small compared to the amount of crab in the roll, and a couple pieces were sinewy which I had to awkwardly spit out. My friend is a fan so I'll probably give them another try.
