We are new to the area and we were craving Indian food and its delicious spices however we were disappointed at the food we tried. It was underwhelming in flavor. Great customer service

It's hard to find Indian/Nepalese (aka Himalayan) restaurants. It's basically Indian food with even more flavor. This place definitely lives up to the expectations. The food is incredibly flavorful, the naan is awesome, and they even have a few draft beers to boot!

Masala Waves has such a great variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian and Nepali food! Definitely try the momos as an appetizer, and the tandoori artichoke for vegetarians is a must. Other dishes we tried were: madras chicken (coconut based & really good blend of spices), chicken tikka masala (classic), onion kulcha, and garlic naan (amazing). For dessert, the homemade pistachio kulfi melts in your mouth and is a perfect end to such a flavorful meal. The service was very nice, super sweet people, and all of our food came out pretty quick for a Thursday evening. Will definitely be coming back to try more Nepali dishes like the traditional thali, Nepali chicken, and more momos!

Very good food. We had tandoori fish and shrimp vindaloo. Spicy and so good. We also had the naan that was impregnated with onions and cilantro. That was our favorite. Oh, and I love the Indian art on the walls, too.

This place has moved into the #1 spot for Indian food in HB for me. It seems like it improved noticeably since last review and I gave it 5 stars then. The chicken tikka masala is creamy and rich in flavor with perfectly cooked tender delicious chunks of chicken and a beautiful and complex tomato curry that surpassed all expectations. I also had the chili chicken, which was masterful - somewhere between Indian and Chinese, I could not stop eating this dish and didn't bother with the rice as the chicken was so damn good that's all I wanted to eat! I have no idea about service or ambiance as I order delivery but delivery was quick, for Indian food, and the prices were very reasonable, considering I used a delivery service. Very impressed and I definitely will be ordering again, probably this week! Next time, I'll put some pics up... had no idea it would be soooo good!!

Masal Waves is a newer restaurant in Huntington Beach. They offer several "plant based" meal options that were well prepared. The Owner checked in on us during our dinner and chatted about his journey to opening this restaurant. He was very nice and appreciated our dinner.

Friday night seated very quickly. This place is homey and clean and has plenty of seating. We got our appetizers and drinks fast but waited another 30mins for our entree and I had to ask the waiter when our food was coming as it was getting close to closing. My roommate and I absolutely loved the spinach dipped naan. Super fluffy and creamy and the yogurt dip was a refreshing touch of tang. Nepali style thali was great for a first visit to try a little bit of everything. Lamb was tender. We got a free pistachio kulfi which I think was to make up for the wait. The kulfi wasn't very photogenic but it was so deliciously milky highly recommend.
