The service was great and the food was very good. My husband ordered the Penne pasta with sausage and enjoyed his meal. I ordered the linguine with shrimp and asparagus in a light cream sauce. It was not what I was expecting, and it was not light. It was tasty but too much for me. The lemon cake was light and so good! The only bummer is how jammed it is, I felt like I was having dinner with the family of four right next to us. And it was interesting that they brought their small dog in with them. We will go again and try other dishes!

DELICIOSO!!! This place is the real deal! Authentic Italian food that is full of flavor, made to order, and just down right amazing. We ordered the Short Rib Pasta special, the Quattro Stagioni Pizza and the Linguini Fantasia. Everything was PERFECTION!!! Cooked perfectly and so fresh. Their desserts are made from scratch, in-house daily and the menu varies. We sampled the Tiramisu and the Creme Brulee and both were delicious. The tiramisu was light and airy and some of the best that we have had in a long time. The Creme Brulee was just the right consistency with that satifying hard shell on top and creamy under belly. The restaurant is small but cozy and the wait staff was very attentive, genuine and so KIND. We stopped by on a Friday night, without a reservation but they made room for us and never made us feel bad for not calling ahead. Reservations are strongly encouraged due to the space and the fact that this restaurants reputation is well known. We sat next to some regulars who had been coming here for many years. They shared with us all their favorite dishes and we had a strong feeling they were not the only regulars in the restaurant. It seemed as if the staff knew just about everyone. Before we left, the hostess made it a point to come and speak with us. She made us feel so welcome and encouraged us to come back. We do not live local but our daughter, who was with us, does. The hostess made sure our daughter knew she would be remembered and that they couldn't wait for her to come back so they could take great care of her again. What a WONDERFUL place. You will not be disappointed and if you live local, I'm confident you'll become a regular too!Vegetarian options: There is a good selection of appetizers, salads and entree's that are vegetarian.

Best Italian restaurant in OC!What a wonderful experience we had last night at Mazara Trattoria!Laura, the owner, has done a fabulous job, not only with the ambiance of the restaurant, the way she remembers her guests and personally visits each table but the food is simply the best in OC. Truly the classic Italian style. We had the special of the day, Short rib pasta with homemade pappardelle pasta which was perfect. Very large portion. The minestrone soup was also top notch. Wine was great and at a reasonable price. It was a special night out for us. Treat yourself sometime to this fabulous restaurant!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!We found this restaurant “accidentally” a few years ago and go back regularly. As others have said - best Italian in Orange County! Owners welcome you and stop by each table - feels like we are visiting friends. Try to make reservations - it can get busy but they will do whatever they can to accommodate!

Yummy food. The sauces were incredible and the plating was beautiful. Our server, well she was super. The ambiance was a bit loud but we will go again for sure.

Really good Italian restaurant. It was recommended by a friend who eats there every week. My first thought was, "ah, there are lots of Italian restaurants"; but I gave it a try. I'm glad I did. Delicious dishes -- Fettuccini Fungi and Short Rib Pappardelle was in the top three we've ever had. The tiramisu was in the top 2. This place is run by the owners so they really put care and effort into the business -- very friendly and attentive service. Good food value. Don't let the shopping center it's in fool you...the interior is nice. The junky shopping center is probably lower rent so they can keep their prices a good value. When you're inside, you think you're in Europe. Interior is clean, smartly decorated, very comfortable vibe. I know there are lots of Italian restaurants but this is one of the better ones.

A local fav that's located within walking distance from me!! You can tell as soon you walk in that you're going to be taken care of here. The intimate dining setting and the incredible food and service make for an overall amazing experience. My fiancé and I shared the caprese appetizer, a pizza, and a pasta dish, and our stomachs were soooo content. We genuinely loved everything we consumed and could tell by all the patrons that this restaurant is loved and frequented by locals. Can't wait to come back!

I don't know where to begin? let's just say I was very disappointed I saw the rating 4.5 stars n was expecting a sumptuous dinner, what I got was an overpriced bag so small I thought something was missing. My background? Married to an Italian during my college years, travelled all over Italy about 20 times I almost feel Italian!! 5 times on Italian cruise ships. For sure I know about Italian food. The 1 year old menu showed linguine for $26 in 1 year they jacked up the price to $29, what justified this big increase? The portion was small, this must be a joke. All the Italian restaurants near by: Basilico, Capone n black Trumpet all have real Italian chefs n portions are almost twice this size for not much more or the same price. The pescadora sauce was ok but somewhat bland, not enough salt. The only flavorful item was the lobster bisque. I just don't know what they are thinking to charge $64, had we dined in n ordered a drink the bill would be $80, really exorbitant n nothing justified that, on top of all that the bread they gave us was hard as a rock, not fresh, they should throw old bread out n not give it out to 1st time customers. Do yourself a favor go to Black Trumpet or Capone also on Beach Blvd closer to the beach, the food is authentic you think you are in Italy. I think 3 stars are generous, who are the folks who think this is a 4.5 stars restaurant? I can guarantee you all my reviews are accurate. This is definitely not a $$ restaurant they should change it to $$$.

Food was 4 stars.Female owner's service was 3 stars. We came by for dinner tonight. Had called them in advance to let them know we'd come by in 10 minutes and a staff member told us the wait will be 20-25 minutes. We arrived and ended up waiting 25-30 minutes for a table. When we first arrived, there was only a table of 2 left and so a customer who arrived after us got to sit there before us. Then finally a large party of 6 and table of 4 left place. The female owner comes by and tells me that I need to keep waiting because she needs the tables for a large party of 8 and a party of 2 (who happen to be her friends).I was so peeved that she would try to offer the newly opened up table for 4 and give it to a party of 2 (her friends who arrived after us) even though we had waited 25+ minutes already? Who does that kind of thing? It ruined my mood and I'm glad her staff ended up telling her that we had been waiting a long time for our table and it's not right for her to give our table away to a party of 2 when it's obviously a table for 4. I'm rolling my eyes just thinking about how ridiculous this owner lady is.We also asked for a high chair and they brought us a booster seat. Uh, what???We ordered:1) linguine Alla pescatora - good 2) margherita pizza - decent 3) veal & mushroom - decent The only reason we were full upon leaving is due to their bread. Portion sizes are just ok, and flavors are fine. Don't think we'll be back again if we have to see that owner lady.
