The food was really good, we got the super burrito with Carne Asada & the nachos. It was amazing. The salsa was really authentic & spicy too. The vibe in the restaurant was really cool too, very authentic. This was also very affordable for the portion size (especially compared to other Mexican restaurants around the corner). The service was great too, very attentive.

Great friendly service ("whatever you need boss") but my and my sons food was just ok. Had crispy tacos and carne asada burrito and both lacked flavor. Meat was tender but a bland.

Best beef tacos I've ever had. Loaded with a generous amount of beef, cheese and lettuce. The enchilada was equally delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Management is very nice also

Such a delicious stop! The staff was super friendly, and the food was excellent. I ordered nachos with beef, which tasted delicious, perfectly seasoned, and flavorful. I highly recommend trying this local restaurant!

I have seen this place so many times while watching Sunday football across the street at the sports bar. This place has a sign that reads best Mexican food in town. They aren't wrong. I finally tried it today choosing to go with the carnitas plate with rice and beans. Simply fantastic. The carnitas was done perfect. Tender and slightly crispy but not greasy at all. It's like they had abuelita in the kitchen making the food. I will definitely go back.

My kids look forward to eating at Pete's Mexican Food when we are in Huntington Beach. They love the #3 breakfast special and their tortilla chips. We also really like the friendly service.

The real deal here . We've been coming here for decades and have never been disappointed . Carlos and his wife , and the entire crew there , are always welcoming and warm . Then there is the food ! No flowers on your plate , no tiny portions of food with squirrelly designs of who-knows-what on it , just really great homemade Mexican food . And now Carlos and the crew , are feeding my youngest son and my Grandson and Mom ! Oh , and soon to arrive Granddaughter too ! My wife and I live in Hawaii and have nothing like Pete's Mexican Food here , not even close ! As soon as we land at Long Beach Airport , we're planning our first meal at Pete's . Excellent little hidden jewel, has tv sports, great food reasonably priced an outdoor covered dining area with lots of parking and great service. Ole!

We love finding local places. This is a local place and the food was excellent! We loved sitting outside on a quieter street, under umbrellas. Not fancy, just perfect! We had a chili relleno burrito, a shredded beef taco, and an a'la carte chili relleno. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great. Our order was delicious and good sized. The chips were included and freshly fried whole corn tortillas. A tasty change up from normal chips. The salsa was very good too. We'll be back next time we're in Huntington Beach.
