My daughter and I ordered two burritos California burritos and a shrimp burrito. The girl over the speaker told me it will be $26. I was like alright cool sat in the car chatting as there were a few cars a head. It was our turn and the girl I think her name is Maya was like it will be $ 11 and I was like wait. That’s for two burritos? She was like what did you order and I told her. She was like oh okay I’m your order got lost and you will have to wait. I had asked okay do you want me to park up front. She looked nervous and was like no you don’t have to I’m like okay. I hand her the money and she was like you know what I have the right to refuse your order. I was like what? She’s like yea bye and closes the window. I have gone there many times and had never been treated that way. I did go inside and spoke to the manager. The manager was a bit helpful.

I have ordered food at this location for 10 years. It is really nice to have restaurants close to home when you live in North Indio. The food is passable, but that is not the problem. Service is extremely slow. I have tried to give them chances through the years. It has only gotten worse as time has passed.. If you get in the drive-through, you have to plan to wait 15 to 20 minutes, when I tried to go through the drive-through this week, I ordered a single burrito and waited 10 minutes behind one car. The car in front of me finally started honking. A woman came to the service window, said something to him and shut the window. He waited more. The food never came so he just drove off. When I got to the service window, I could see that now they have put black tint on their window so you can't see in. I continued to wait a few more minutes and nobody ever came to the window. I drove off too. I will never go back to this restaurant. The Castaneda's on Varner in Bermuda Dunes is way better. There is also a good location on Cook Street in Palm Desert. It really is too bad that the North Indio restaurant has such terrible service. I would like to support local, but I will never return based on just how bad service has gotten.

12/21/23 My Bf went to Castaneda's on Avenue 42 in Indio to pick up carne Asada fries for me. Paid almost $18 for them. All I wanted was meat & cheese on the fries. Pico on the side. He tried to TELL THEM THAT but no one could hear him because THEY HAD THE MUSIC UP SO LOUD he couldn't talk over it. He asked the to TURN IT DOWN several times & they did nothing. When he brought them to me they were not what I ordered. The fries were not cooked all the way, covered in runny avocado sauce & sour cream with something hot & spicy that had soaked in. There was a cup of shreaded cheese in the bag & very little meat. Waste of money right before Xmas when funds were limited. Tried calling. Make me some fries that I can eat - or REFUND MY MONEY. Santa does not like naughty fast food workers.

The only good thing was the open 24 hrs. Asada meat had no real flavor, asked for no cheese on beans but they put it on. Had the 2 tacos combo. Don’t see myself coming
It's a great place to get some tasty Mexican food. The food is well-seasoned, and the service is friendly. There's even music that makes you feel like you're in Mexico. Prices are reasonable, around $8 to $10 per person.

i ask for a shrimp co and it shows avocado on top so I asked if it came like that the girl at the register said yes so I ordered it when came time to get my food it did not have any so I asked for my avocado they said it was mixed in I said I don't like it like that the cook was rude said I'll give you your money back I said ok since I drove from far cuase I seen it in lunch time I came back for dinner I ended up buying an avocado for 2.75 and ate with no crackers or chips to go with it will never eat hear again and the rude workers dont care about the customer thanks for nothing

The service was good, the workers are nice. Although I have gone many times and always in hope that it will be better but it's not. The morning crew never gets our order wrong but the night... I ordered an asada burrito just to get home and it be very dry. I thought I just got a big bite of the asada but to my surprise, when I opened the burrito it was ONLY asada. It was very disappointing.
