Four of us for dinner and our orders were #4 Taco & Chile Relleno & rice & beans, Chiles Rellenos, Chile Verde, Enchiladas de Carne. Hospitality and service was great- we were sat quickly and tasty chips with salsa delivered when the order was taken. The cafe was spacious, clean and comfortable. The dishes were great looking and not super spicy. The enchiladas, chile rellenos, chile verde rated excellent. Taco not so much. I found the beans okay, one party member was not impressed. I am not a great fan of rice but what I was served was the best Mexican flavored rice in memory. Next time in area, we are going to try the original El Mexicali Cafe.

We popped in today after a performance at Indio HS. The hunger being felt was draining, so hitting a spot that wasn't too far was nice. German was our server and asked about our interest in "drinks" after we had been seated. For me, a blended Mango Margarita and a standard Margarita on the rocks for my wife. My margarita was excellent and it has been a while since I dabbled with this variety. I highly recommend it, having some chips with their incredible salsa while going to my straw was addicting. My wife LOVES Chilaquiles and anyone that knows her can attest, I also opted for something related to "breakfast", the Huevos Con Chorizo. The HCC came with potatoes mixed with peppers & onions, along with some Refried Beans. Everything turned out positive and our plates were left SPARKLING clean. Too bad I can't say the same for my Purple Polo. A big thumbs up to German and the staff as well. A return visit will eventually happen.

You haven't lived until you've had a meal at the El Mexicali small chain of family restaurants. As a Huevos Rancheros girl .. I'm guaranteed to have an exceptional quality and quite tasty meal no matter where I am in the Inland Empire. Basically ... I eat everything .... EVEN that gigantic green pepper ( Chile Guerito ) that you see on my plate .. No .. it wasn't hot

We had a very good meal here, the cheese enchilada was prepared very well and the chile relleno was perfect! the rice, the beans the chips and salsa were all great. The service was good, but a few missed steps along the way. Will be returning to try a new item someday. This is a win for the food!

The atmosphere is amazing and the service was good. They were very attentive to their tables. The food was good overall. The only issues I had were the chips looked and tasted like they came from the bottom of the bag (small and a bit greasy). While the Carne asada had good flavor, there was too much fat for my liking. We will probably be back!

Busy place! Great food, great service, and overall wonderful experience. We tried the stuffed peppers with shrimp. A wonderful taste, and something different. No reservations at this restaurant, but they managed to get you in as quickly as possible.

This is by far a good mexiamerican restaurant, delicious food but not authentic Mexican food. Service depending on how busy they are, if weekends, horrible service.
