Mid-sized, diner-style restaurant way down in Indio. The menu features a good number of breakfast and lunch items (the place is open now until 5:00 pm). There's probably something on it for every taste. The servers are friendly and as fast as they can be with the lunch crowd. Well, I think they have a lot of maturing to do. Keedy’s Fountain and Grill in Palm Desert is a Coachella Valley staple. This “sequel” fails to measure up, in multiple ways. First, their seating capacity exceeds the kitchen capacity. Why is that a big deal? Well, it’s a big deal because when a kitchen is struggling to keep up, it will do one of two things: fall way behind, or rush plates to keep people from waiting. In our experience, the latter was true. Second: Poorly executed dishes - and simple dishes at that (pancakes and waffles) - and servers that were teetering on the edge of exasperation (since they missed one of our orders entirely, and were completely incredulous when we said we were missing an order of waffles). I ordered the biscuits and gravy… which arrived as two extra doughy (aka underbaked) biscuits and a “gravy” (that looked and tasted like something Tostitos would make for a party dip) shlopped on a plate that was about 4 inches too small for the half-gallon of Tostitos Slerm… the poor biscuits looked like two undiscovered islands in an infinite expanse of khaki colored gruel. Call me old fashioned, but this “modern twist” may have sprained the Keedy’s legacy.

What a pleasant time I had with my family! We loved the complimentary potato chips. They have a great wine selection, and my old-fashioned was made to perfection. My ribeye was cooked just right. We enjoyed it every much.

The food was great and the service was amazing, but I did feel like it was a little overpriced. This is the first time I paid over 100 for breakfast.

The food is not similar to the original keedys at all. I am not a fan. Service was normal just a phone call pick up. but seriously, the same place but different recipes? Cold fries, salad isn't even chopped. burgers were just thrown in before we fixed them, also for $45 this was so disappointing.

If "modern twist" means smaller portions and higher prices, then it's spot on. The pancakes were as thin as crepes and the chilaquiles were ice cold and dry. Ended up paying $220 for 7 people and when we asked to get the check split the waitress looked upset. Unfortunate that I'll be driving to PalmDesert if I want a nice Keedy's breakfast.

Stopped by today and placed our name for a table of 10. We waited outside as we were quoted 25-30 minute wait time. Around the 20 min mark I stepped inside to see the status of our table. I was told that they had sat our table and I had not even heard our name called out. They told me it would be another 20-25 minutes. No manager presence to even apologize or try to look for other accommodations. We were told a table would be ready again and were waiting for them to pay so we can be sat. About another 30 minutes passed and still nothing. We were very dissatisfied with the service and inability to accommodate or offer any empathy. Definitely this place could be great but ownership and management really need to step it up with coordinating and communication. Couldn’t rate the food as we did not get to eat

I am a huge fan of the original Keedy's Cafe on El Paseo with their original and old school vibes. When I found out Keedy's was opening a restaurant closer to my house, I was ecstatic!!! The Keedy's with a modern twist is exactly what I got. I felt the classic diner vibes, yet modern decor, and Morgan Wallen and Jon Pardi playing in the background. We were greeted immediately and asked for our drink orders, followed by our amazing server who took our orders. The food came out faster than I could take a sip of my iced tea. I ordered the Keedy's special with a side of hashbrowns and pancakes. Let's just say I wasted no time in enjoying my food. I started off with eating half of my pancakes. The pancakes were so soft that as soon as it hit your tongue they melted in your mouth. I enjoyed the saltiness of the bacon, hash browns and over easy eggs, and ended my experience with the rest of my delicious pancakes. The service met every bit of our standards and the restaurant was so clean due to the bussers walking through the restaurant, wiping down tables, and ensuring utensils were on the tables. As a former F&B supervisor, I was very pleased to see every single team member walking around and ensuring the guests were taken care of. Not a single one of them were standing there waiting for you to flag them down. This type of service is hard to come by. Kudos to all of the staff and exceptional service! I'm sad I didn't get our server's name but it was a tall gentleman with dark hair and glasses. Thank you for the great experience.
