We love their various small breads and cake rolls! They are really moist, delicious, and not too sweet. The small breads vary in price from $2 to $3 and are always "buy 5 get 1 free" (you can mix and match, and you get the cheapest bread on your tray for free). The cake rolls are $13-16, but various flavors go on sale fairly often. The bakery lady is always really nice and friendly on the multiple occasions we have been there.

One would deal with salaried employees who are not well managed by owner. Profit is not her core concern, and hence customer's needs are not neither. And they appear to be under staffed. It was supposed to be open till 9pm but we were unable to find anyone when we arrived by 8:40pm. We went back the next morning to order some birthday cakes, but was told the chef would not have time to write "happy birthday" on the cakes if we need them by noon time next day because the chef will be off... Oh mine, they don't have enough staff to cover 7 days a week per their published schedule...

Seriously this place is amazing. The bread is so fresh and delicious. Everything I have had has been awesome! They are very nice also. This place is extremely dangerous for people like myself that love bread and carbs. This is a must try if you are in the area. It is a hidden gem.

First time I visited this place. It was OMG moment. There are lots of Asian bakery in OC and I love them all. This place is one of my favorite one because store is clean, organized, friendly cashier, great taste and most of all the best prices! (Oh, I bought 5 and they gave me 6th FREE. )If you love Asian bread, you must try this place once!!

The taro cake was decorated beautifully. The price was decent at $24.99 for an 8 inch cake. My family enjoyed the taro filling and the fact that the cake wasn't overly sweet. The taro was not very smooth, but the flavor was good. The buttercream was a bit too overwhelmingly oily for my mom and I. But overall, the cake was good quality, tasted good, and the price was reasonable.

tons of favor and cake to choose from. I like the bakery they have, bread is good but cake is ok. I ordered Taro cake from here. they have real taro in the cake which is great but it frozen. I try to cut it during our friend birthday and so was so hard i can even cut it with regular knife. favor was ok. I would come back for bread though it was good

We got a cake here for my birthday and it was genuinely terrible. We really aren't picky people but this cake had an awful texture and zero sweet taste. The cake felt rubbery when we tried to chew it. Not a single person in our family of 5 took more than one bite. We are a small business owning family and strongly believe in going to a business to have them right a wrong instead of leaving bad reviews, but when my father took the cake back (yes the full cake including the unfinished cut pieces) he was met with a very rude and argumentative staff and manager. They didn't refund, offer store credit, or even send him home with a new cake. So not only do they have awful cakes, they have awful service.

Bought a taro cake which was on sale as well. Lucky me, it was the only one left. Beautifully decorated and very moist and delicious. Would order ahead next time to make sure they have it for me

Pork floss bun was my childhood favourite. The ones at this bakery were surprisingly delicious ! The bread wasn't too dry at all!

For your next last minute birthday cake, get one here. BF is a vibe. Located inside 99 Ranch on the left when you enter, this hidden gem has a lot of pastries similar to what you find with 85C, including 8-9 inch cakes that are pretty good. So I knew they do a good job with cakes because I had cakes from here awhile back, before everything became modernized in 99 Ranch and it was great. Nowadays, it's just as good as I remember it. So I ordered a full taro cake, made early in the morning and out on display in full form to just purchase and take home, and later at my party it was a huge hit. It was sweet but not overwhelmingly so as with most Asian pastries, the bread was moist and fresh, and the layers had a good mix of bread on the top and bottom layer, while the rich taro layer lies in the middle. Price-wise, I thought it was really good. $22 for a high quality cake that was universally popular at the party is very good. Service was very good here, something that is also great here. They package your cake in a beautiful box, and offer free candles, forks, and plates for your party. Definitely a highlight that would make your day better.

Expensive but no better than 85C

I was given the task to go to JJ Bakery and purchase a Black Forest Cake. I was told that some time ago she got one from here that was very delicious. So with a time deadline to be back home with this Cake by 10:30 AM and run all the other errands, I made did make it. I was told the Cake was the best part of the luncheon. The restaurant in Costa Mesa was not so great. I had nothing to do with that choice of location. That review will come soon. JJ has many beautiful desserts, a cafe, and best of all the cake came in an extraordinary box, with candles and a plastic serving piece as well as a Happy Birthday sign to be placed on top.
