I got a bowl of ramen with my friends here. I really liked all the different toppings available and paying just for what I put in my bowl. Great service and food. I definitely recommend!

my go-to malatang spot!!! ik they got the ramen title still but i think they're actually called "fast hotpot"... they have a wide selection of veggies, meats, fish balls, and carbs. i love their soup base (beef bone) and i usually get the mild option and it's not that spicy! for someone whos tolerance is low, it was a very appetizing kick. i will say that the numby-ness is present and if you're not really into that, i suggest a different soup. the staff is very kind and if you spend $20+ feel free to grab their complimentary drink (it's usually either this red berry(?) beverage or a coconut juice). size of the establishment is small but can seat groups or solo diners. they also have a sauce bar w extra charge! i love coming here and grabbing a hearty bowl to fill me up-- super yummy and delicious :)

I had an amazing experience at Gyutan Ramen, didn't know there's Chinese malatang in Gyutan Ramen! The soup base were absolutely delicious, and the spice level can choose, I chose mild spicy which was perfect for myself who cannot eat spicy but still wants some flavor. The ingredients were fresh, and the owner was super friendly and attentive. I can't wait to return for more of their delicious malatang. Highly recommended!

I was excited to have their ramen for dinner, unfortunately the chicken was way too greasy & had a strange after taste. Also the ramen broth wasnt tasteful. The quality of food can definitely be improved.

Tonkotsu Ramen broth lacked depth and was a bit bland.

Just ok. It's not the best ramen but not horrible. Lots of tables and seats, and order your items thru kiosk which is fast and easy. Ventilation could be better, it felt very stuffy eating inside. Honestly this place is good for when you don't want to think too hard about your meal and in the mood to be spontaneous because it's very meh--a forgettable experience in taste and ambiance. Go to Marufuku!

I truly don't understand why this place has such a high rating. The ramen is bad. The price is bad. The add-ons are expensive. I guess it's impressive if you're a weeb from bakersfield or something, and you've never had ramen before. There is plenty of better elsewhere.

tl,dr: Horrible exp during chilly weather.Likes:+ Ample parking.+ Plenty of indoor seating.Non-likes:- I was surprised to learn the Peking Zha Jiang Noodle did not have any broth. I had assumed everything at a ramenya would come with broth. I wish they had mentioned this detail somewhere on the menu clearly, cuz I was very cold.- So, after finishing my Peking Noodle, I reluctantly ordered a second item Soup Liangpi, hoping to warm my body up.- I wrote in my order instructions to make the Soup Liangpi very hot. It came only mildly warm.- The Liangpi Soup is quite a rip-off. It's just noodles and tofu in a broth. Not worth $10.- Feels like I wasted $30 at this restaurant only to leave that place still feeling a bit cold.- They don't offer a side order of hot broth to help people feel better in cold weather, like miso soup.I ordered:Peking Zha Jiang Noodle + egg +Soup Liangpi= $30

This place is located next to the FedEx in University Plaza. One orders here with a Snackpass brand kiosk. The kiosk relentlessly asked us if we were done yet and that it would reset if we did not. It was not convenient for us because it was our first visit and we were very indecisive, and I saw no other means of browsing the food at the location. Either way, we managed to put in an order despite having to constantly mash the "need more time" button. A staff member verbally called out the number of the order. There was a TV that displayed both the order name and number so we had a general idea of when it would be done. The ramen tasted pretty good, though it tasted similar to what I could get elsewhere, so it influenced my rating slightly because the price was comparable to other fast ramen places. Not requiring human interaction is a benefit to eating here but having to decide quickly before losing one's progress is not.Unfortunately while I was in this plaza a beggar tried to solicit money from me, which is a recurring issue whenever I visit here--which is why I actively try to avoid coming anywhere in this plaza when possible.
