A small group of us went here on a weekend evening because it was one of the only bars open late and we have heard the view is beautiful. First, the hotel only has valet parking which was far too expensive for a couple of drinks at the bar. The valet guy then offered us an hour pass for about half the cost, still too expensive, and he finally told us we could park for free in the business park across the street. It felt like we were bargaining with him. Then we got inside to find out that the rooftop bar was closed due to “low demand” but the lobby bar was open. The bar seemed busy (in a good way) and we decided that would be fine, we already drove there might as well stay. We went to the bar and attempted to order three mixed drinks. We were told the bar was about to close and we could have bottled beer only. We got three overpriced bottled beers, as we watched multiple mixed drinks be made for other guests. Without any words, I was given the check. I was paying cash, and waiting another 5 minutes of watching the bartenders clean the bar while making mixed drinks before the male bartender got my change without a single word being spoken. We sat down, and watched the bartenders loudly announce to everyone that the bar was closed and everyone had to go sit somewhere else. I have never seen such poor customer service or unlikeable bar staff. They cleared at least 30 people out of a packed bar at 11pm when they were “covering” for the rooftop bar that was supposed to be open for at least two more hours. As Bonvoy members too, we won’t be back, and recommend you don’t either.

Food wasn't that great . Really expensive for what you get and the staff wasn't that interested in serving us. Table for two with no reservations means we're sitting by the elevators.

Been here twice-once for a private event and last night for happy hour for a friends bday. Love the heaters. Love the Gluten friendly food options-wings and sweet potato fries were delicious. The sparkling hibiscus lemonade (non alcoholic) was great-not too sweet. Bathrooms were clean. Service was efficient. Server asked about food allergies which I always appreciate.

Great place for a drink but the $12 parking fee and 90 minute maximum allowed to stay is off putting. Staff are friendly and the steak skewers were very

We went to Hive and Honey when we were visiting Newport Beach. We just stayed for drinks. Drinks are well made. Atmosphere is ok, they are targeting younger crowds, people under 27 years old. Service that we received was somehow rushed and nothing memorable. The elevator system that goes directly to the rooftop is hard to operate. To me this establishment is 3 star bar at most. Do I comeback again? No, not my cup of tea. Your experience may different.

Food was decent, service was slow, music was too loud, but being outdoors was nice with all the strong heaters to stay warm.

Nice place for a drink. I do find it annoying that there is no parking except valet which is $25. So a lot of people park across the street even though you are not supposed to. No street parking either. So parking would really be nice. If you don't have reservations you have to sit at the bar or at one of the few table near it. You cannot sit at a table by the glass or the couches. The view was still nice at sunset. Drinks were really good. Kinda high priced but pretty normal still for a rooftop or hotel.

Obviously a great view. Drinks had plenty of alcohol in them. The food options were limited. I recommend the Moroccan Cigar (lamb). Avoid the churros. Valet parking can be validated to drop price a bit.Parking: Valet can be validated to reduce the price.Kid-friendliness: People under 21 are not allowed to go to roof after about 7pm.
