I'm here just for the croissant taiyaki. Love the one with the custard inside, they put so much custard in there it's great! Get 3 of them!

First time trying this place on Friday and I can say in confidence I will not be back here.. it's overpriced and while it's nice and cute and spacious inside, the amount of dessert you get doesn't justify the price point. $6 for an ube lava cake that was so tiny it looked like a dallop of purple cake inside a small to go container. The mango milk snow was just okay. I mean - $16 for a small order - and the sweet mango cream/milk didn't even get to the bottom of the tiny bowl. The service I have to say is just okay too. Nothing too special about it. They greet you, they answer your questions and of course, the monitor asks for a tip LOL Anyway, if you're in Irvine anyway and are looking for a great dessert place, I think Meet Fresh is waaaaaay better than this place so I would drive just about 3 miles down and I'll be much more satisfied for less money.

I was very torn whether or not to give this place 3 or 5 stars, but considering what the place actually has control over, I think it deserves 5 stars. Staff has always been attentive and friendly, and the pastries are delicious! I haven't been able to find another place that serves croissant taiyaki like they do - they add a touch of sugar to the top of the croissant, which adds a crispy, subtle-sweet that tastes AMAZING with the savory fillings (try the ham n' cheese!). Beard Papa's cream puffs never disappoint, either, and I typically grab a box whenever I'm going to visit family. Now, ambiance. I sometimes come here for a comfy place to work on my graphic design projects, typically in the afternoon on weekdays. Recently, however, I made the mistake of coming on a Friday night with friends. Although we found a table pretty quick, the cafe was full of families with screaming children -- not crying, just screaming for fun while the adults ignored them, yelling at each other to carry on their conversation over the noise. Now, I'm not some crotchety hermit - I enjoy a lively venue! But I had to fully roar at my friends to be heard. And it wasn't just a single family causing the ruckus, but four separate groups. Mochi's staff obviously can't control who dines there, but I wanted to throw this warning out there. Are you the type of person who would like to enjoy a pastry in relative peace? Maybe avoid this place on weekend evenings. Are you a parent who refuses to coach their child on how to use their inside voice? Please go to the park instead. :)

Vegan friendly mochi ice cream options! I tried three flavors that were good, as well as a tea. I wish the tea was sweeter but I’m still happy to support a place with vegan options ?

I brought my class in today for a community lesson. The service was amazing. The people waiting on us were very patient, kind, and generous with my class. It is wonderful to have unsolicited support from community members. The treats were delicious too!

I can't discuss about the food quality since the staff gave my order to someone else after making us wait 20 minutes. They just didn't look like they cared or want to be there. Very disappointing. BTW, staff wanted to keep the tip even though I didn't get my order.

I really wanted to like this place after I saw some of the reviews. Just a bit too disappointing for me. The inside is spacious, cute, and modern. They have interesting little things for sale outside of the desserts. I have to admit, I didn't know what each one was as I browsed. Once in line, we decided to get the chocolate with chocolate filling and the creme brûlée. The experience with the cashier was awkward. We weren't really greeted, so the exchange was basically us asking a question. She responded in a flat tone, like she really didn't want to be there or maybe she was annoyed. Not sure, but in any case it felt like a Walmart interaction. I was looking forward to the crème brûlée, but I found it not to taste anything like crème brûlée. It tasted more like a melted marshmallow on top of a creme puff. We placed our other purchases in the refrigerator and by the next morning there was no puff left, they literally had become melted sandwiches. I grew up eating real creme puffs as my mother was Italian, so I knew this was not that traditional type of creme puff. Nonetheless it should have kept its "puff." To be honest, we didn't even eat them because they no longer looked appetizing. They were about five bucks a piece, so it felt like not only a wasted trip, but a total waste of what should have been tasty dessert. Would not recommend at all. Go to cream pan instead!!!

If you're looking for a hangout place to eat some sweets, come here. Just know that there's only red light foods here and for sure your insulin level will spike! But if you think it's worth it, then why not? The servers are nice, and the selections of sweets are plentiful. There's seating s outside, which is nice on a summer day, but it can be too cold on some days.

Absolutely the worst latte i've ever had. Wayyy too sweet and powdery for some reason. Their cream puffs looked super good, but I'd avoid their lattes.

This place is amazing.....lot to choose from on desserts, coffee, teas and snow ice!!!! The snow ice is like a snow cone but way better and delicious!!! This place is a must try

Love how much seating there is here! Most importantly, this place sells a lot of sonny angels and smiskis! Highly recommend visiting if you're looking to buy some mystery box toys!

Likely the best study spot in Irvine, and possibly all of OC with a diverse menu. Coffee, taiyaki, milk tea, mochi ice cream, gelato, cream puffs, and more.
