Jook on a rainy day really hit the spot...but looked at the menu on yelp from a month ago from the business which said the dish was 13.99. Got to the restaurant, their physical menu said 16.49. A little disingenuous considering the owner posted the menu just a month ago...but fine whatever...everyone is hurting bc of inflation. However what broke the straw was when she rang it up, it was 17.25. Expect 30% more than the prices on the menu from one month ago by the owner on Yelp pics.

This hole in the wall surprises my friends and family every time! Their spicy chicken with garlic sauce explodes with umami and lightly spicy flavor and is the ultimate comfort food. Their chicken soup is to die for!

Terrible food, dirty restaurant, can't comment on service because there didn't look to be any dine in. Tables were not clean and pushed to a corner with chairs on tables around lunch time. It was just a kid manning the cash register doing take out orders. I kid you not, a cockroach walked in with me when I opened the front door. I hesitated about even picking up the food I had ordered over the phone but saw a Chinese girl pick up food from the restaurant driving a BMW so I ignored the Yelp reviews and thought maybe it's one of those hole in the wall places that are grimey but make bomb food. NOPE. We were craving Hainan Chicken Rice and they were the only one nearby with it on the menu. There was nothing Hainan Chicken Rice about their dish. Chicken was bland, no seasoning; rice was straight up white rice, not cooked in any chicken stock or flavor. Honestly I wouldn't even care if the food was mediocre but restaurant was kept up or vice versa but this establishment really has no redeeming qualities about it other than it's providing someone a job. Sad face.

I was looking for a late dinner takeout and decided on the cheese baked rice with pork cutlets. For $20, I got a box of rice with shredded cheese which is definitely microwaved (not baked), with a few small pieces of pork on top. It tasted stale and horrible. My son and I shared the rice and guess what?! We both had the worst diarrhea all night long. Other family members who did not touch the rice were fine. He says no wonder it's called "runny chicken". Great menu with poor execution.

So many fake reviews here..feels like this place is run by Amateurs. Chicken isn't cooked thoroughly. Some of the items I ordered was not fresh. Classic fake reviews Update: what a joke since I posted look at the fake reviews since, oh that's right they pay yelp for bunch of sponsored ads , gotcha

1. Service is ok ok. Will be much appreciated if we can be informed that each dishe will be $1 more when we ordered. 2. Environment: Water spots all around in the floor so not very comfortable. Restroom is super wet and slippery.... 3. Dish: With 15 mins waiting, we expected the dishes were hot. The veggie in Teriyaki Chicken Rice served first was cold. And the one in Hai Nan Chicken served secondly was hot. Rice on both dishes were dried and hard. Eggs too. Hai Nan Chicken - the chicken tasted not bad but I would not say it's Hai Nan Chicken.

The spicy chicken is amazing! The chicken is very tender, and garlic sauce is special. My boyfriend's favorite is the pineapple rice, I have never tried before. It made me surprised. I've come twice and will continue afterwards!

This place needs some work. On the Yelp app, the business owner puts the deal as 11.99, but when goes inside, the employee or whoever is at the cash register.. does not acknowledge the promotion. He kept saying "I don't know why ".. well maybe ask your business owner. Anyway, it's 14.99$ for a regular hainan and rice plate. Served nicely on a plate with a hard boiled egg. Great taste and the ginger sauce is yummy. Id recommend getting the regular hainan chicken rice as it comes with a sauce plate . The spicy one that they advertised is similar to the hainan chicken rice plate but with just the sauce on top (it's salty if you order this as the sauce just overpowers the hainan chicken flavorings) .. The person at the cashier is a tall young men, he doesn't do much in the front.. empty napkin containers.. on most tables. And there is just chopsticks and steak knives. No forks.. no spoons. They really want us to eat a plate of hainan chicken rice with chopsticks. I had to ask for spoon, he goes for five minutes to find it and washes it. But doesn't even dry it!! He brings it to us wet. Omg haha. Anyway. Needs improvement up front, and it's fun to see the front blasting Chinese music while the back blasting Mexican music super loud. It's like neighbor wars .

They must have changed ownership because I’ve never seen such a sharp decline in quality before. Tonight I ordered my favorite dish, the spicy garlic chicken, but the flavor was unrecognizable from my last visit a few months ago, and the portion size was less than one quarter of what I remember. They replaced the wall TVs with tacky decorations and removed several items from the menu, including one of my favorite dishes, the rice noodle rolls, as well as their iced teas. The rice that came with my chicken was so dry it was hard to eat, and my “pineapple fried rice” was served inside of a pineapple, but it did not actually have any pineapple chunks in it, and the rice was not fried at all, just mixed with soy sauce and some scrambled eggs. They also forgot to include the chicken soup that was supposed to be included with my order. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting with pools of urine on the floor. Do not come here.

Had nice brunch here. Really enjoy the chicken soup with rice and my boyfriend ordered Hainan style chicken combo. It was really good, the chicken tasted really soft without the bone.

DONT GET ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE Absolutely the worst restaurant ive ever been to. on uber eats I ordered sizzling chicken with spaghetti, the delivery person did his job well but the food is just nasty. 2 min into eating I found hair in my spaghetti (which also arrived stone cold btw) and the hair is not mine (it is of color black while my hair is brown and part-bleached) and the chicken is burnt ... and on the platform they dont even have beverages, which isnt a big deal but bothers me a little when i always get a meal with a beverage. look at the 1 star comments before u look at the 5 stars ones, i never write comments but this time it really triggered me (i am only giving a 1 star cause the lowest is 1, otherwise i would say -5)

Tasty! The food is actually is much better than they looked on the menu. We ordered one spicy chicken, one ginger chicken and one pepper chicken soup. The hot soup is especially tasty! Definitely recommend!

One of the dirtiest restaurants in Irvine. They can’t even be bother to wipe off all the hand prints from the glass doors. Just glad I didn’t get a bad stomach after eating here. Will not ever go back again.
