I may have to try something else next time. I got a hot golden milk tea with oat milk, reg sugar (50%), no topping. It mostly tasted like oat milk than tea and needed more sugar. It was my first time here, so I know how to order better (hopefully) next time. The girl who was working was nice and patient asking me questions to customize my drink and answering my questions. And she made sure my drink was warm when I came to pick it up.Dietary restrictions: They have oat milk and soy milk as non-dairy alternatives

They offer their beverages in a paper cup, so that alone deserves a 5 star review. They also have a black sesame milk tea that is really good, which is my favorite flavor and kind of hard to come by.

Tried both the signature and golden milk teas with the recommended 50 sweet. It is more like sugar water with a mild tea infusion. You could make this kind of drink by using American grocery store sweet tea and adding creamer. The problem with those bottled/canned teas is the lack of subtle taste you get from fresh steeping. Nothing wrong with the drink per se, but I certainly wouldn't expect it at a dedicated tea shop.

Shocked to hear this is Taiwan’s best boba spot. The boba was tasteless and the tea was nothing to rave about and had a weird aftertaste.

Not a popular opinion I reckon, but SOMA was not my cup of tea. I came here when they first opened, and was not impressed then. I recently visited SOMA again, and was still not impressed. Their signature milk tea is just mediocre, and doesn't have a strong tea taste. There wasn't a line in the store, and there was a couple there waiting for their drinks when we arrived. It did not seem like they were busy, but it took 20+ minutes to get our 2 drinks.

I tried their Tri Blend Signature Milk Tea and the Sesame Milk Tea. I don't really see what's so special about them. They were both severely diluted even though I requested less ice. Not a lot of tea flavor. The interior couches were all dirty and had stains covered all over them. Service was fast as it was pretty slow in the shop. Maybe I'll give their mocktails a try next time.

Tea is really good but workers need to fix their attitude and should be trained to know their products better. 1. They always give me wrong toppings. I be ordering aloe and they for some reason always give me crystal boba. First time I thought okay prob a mistake. Second time I thought fine. Third time I started to think if they really know their toppings. I called the store to see if they can change it for me since I already drove away and I lived far, they don't even pick up phone calls. They're really not that busy to the point to not pick up calls. 2. And for the tropical utopia I bought it couple times already and this is my prob 5th or 6th purchase, they asked me if I want chia seeds, I said what? They told me it's default it should be in the drink already but just want to make sure I want it. This whole time no one's ever tell me that? So on top of giving me wrong toppings that I didnt order they cut my default topping too! Great!3. I called in another time for a drink with boba and did ask ahead if they have it they told me yes plenty. But when I got here they told me they don't have it anymore. I mean, okay maybe someone just bought it all but the point that got me mad was THEY TOLD ME AFTER I PAID AND REFUSED TO REFUND OR SUB OTHER TOPPINGS. I even tipped 20% too. 4. All these bad experiences I found out was pretty much all from this one same lady and SHE IS THE MANAGER THERE. No wonder everyone is all not well trained and still have the ball to give bad attitude.

Honestly this went from an A tier boba shop to a solid D tier. The teas and milk teas are not the same. They are super watered down and have no taste. The mocktails have also gotten worse and have gotten extremely sweet. Also if you get a large size, they don’t really fill it up. They leave it at 85% full. It’s mildly irritating that I have to pay $6 for a drink that doesn’t fill the cup.In terms of shop atmosphere, it’s modern, but interior is also showing age. The seats have some pretty visible stains, and some of the woodwork is coming apart. If you asked me if I recommended this place for tea before, I would given a wholehearted yes. I have been visiting Soma since they opened up their first shop in Artesia since 2018. But sometime early 2022 their quality started a decline. I have continuously come back (even after the Artesia location closed) to see if it had gotten better again, but I’ve only become more disappointed with every visit. It’s fallen so far from its original taste, I would hard pass for the time being. I really hope they improve their quality control and taste to how it once was. Because if you are a tea lover, Soma was once a must go-to place for drinks.

Really enjoyed our tea from Soma. You definitely get an authentic flavor of whatever tea you order. It's not syrupy like most other places. Smooth and at 50% sweet the tea tastes balanced. Really nice looking shop that it right off the highway. They are open late and the staff was super nice and got our drinks out fast. Definitely will be here regularly
