I haven't been back to this restaurant for a while but today decided to come eat while supercharging the Tesla bc the restaurant actually looked pretty packed. Their prices have increased a little bit since the pandemic but not as much as other restaurants so their prices now seem more reasonable in comparison to others, and the portion sizes seemed to have increased for certain items such as the cold dishes. My all time favorite dish here used to be the boiled spicy fish but it seems they've changed the recipe a bit so it's not as good as it was in the past, but I still enjoy it. The spicy chicken dish is huge! Tastes pretty good, but could be a little spicier. Hot tea is included with the meal, which is a plus. Service is ok, as expected at this type of Chinese restaurants.

Absolutely love this place! Hailing from Chongqing, their dishes boast an authentic and tantalizingly spicy taste that never disappoints. The service for takeout is lightning-fast, and the restaurant itself is impeccably clean and tidy. A top-notch choice for anyone craving genuine Chuanwei cuisine!

This Sichuan restaurant is the first Sichuan restaurant I ate in Erwan. The boiled beef is highly recommended. The fish-flavored pork shreds are also very authentic. I ate a bowl and a half of rice in one go.

Accidentally found this place due to another place having a long wait nearby. No wait here so was a little skeptical. Glad we found it. This is a SzeChuan/YunNan regional style. Famous for spicy food and its noodles (云南过桥米线)as well. The food was authentic and had big portions. We got served free hot tea but were charged for a bowl of rice. Service was fast, food was on the table in less than 10 minutes.Ordered:1. Garlic pea leaves (蒜炒豆苗)- highly recommended for a vegetable dish.2. Shredded pork with garlic sauce (鱼香肉丝)- a safe choice , was ok, a little too sweet, but good portion.3. Boiled fish with tofu (清蒸豆花鱼)- the least favorite. The fish didn’t feel fresh and lack some flavor. I would go with the hot sauce one next time.Overall was not bad, felt we ordered the wrong food for this restaurant, so will return to try other dishes on the menu.

The dishes we cook now are so unpalatable, they have no taste at all. It’s hard to describe in words.

This is our go-to place for Sichuan food. it's affordable, tasty (consistently), and they don't use pre-made meal packets (unlike Sichuan impressions). Service is great every time we go to the restaurant and for take out it's usually very fast too. Highly recommend!

Busy place. Make you feel that they don't have time to serve you. Food is okay!

If you can't fork out cash, the owners will give you a hard time on the spot and quietly quote a different price to the cashier. Don't want to argue, but the price is just not right.

I always come here for their cuisine from Sichuan, China. If you like spicy foods and want to try a new flavor, I suggest coming here and getting the Szechuan poached meat. You can choose any meat (fish is my personal favorite) which is stewed in a sauce flavored with sichuan peppercorns, which have a unique flavor profile that is a little tingly, numbing and citrusy, but spicy( IN A GOOD WAY). I also like to get the toothpick lamb here and I pair it with something light, like their green vegetables. My favorite is the a-choy.The environment is nice. My vegetarian friend was able to eat here too. Just notify the staff about any dietary restrictions.Vegetarian options: My vegetarian friend got eggplant and fried rice here.

Our go to place for those spicy combo cold dishes! Tried the scallion pancake and it was actually pretty good as it was warm, crispy and fresh. It's nice that we rarely have to wait when we dine here so it makes a very quick and easy dinner as the cold dishes are ready to eat. It's standard Chinese food, taste is acceptable, would return to try other dishes!

Spicy City is a hidden gem in Irvine! I recently dined in and had the most amazing experience. The Combination In Dried Pot was a flavor explosion with a perfect balance of spices. The Fried Chicken Cubes with Hot Pepper were crispy and packed with just the right amount of heat. The Assorted Fried Rice was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, and the White Rice was perfectly cooked. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was cozy. I highly recommend Spicy City for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine. Can't wait to go back!
