You would expect such a nice place to be next to a truck stop. The staff was friendly and offered lots of options to level up our breakfast. They have a nice salsa bar with grilled onions and serono chili's and 4 types of salsas that are sure to add just the right amount of heat and flavor you crave. The food was phenomenal, would come again. The service was amazing, the guy that was putting in my order was so nice. We dined in and were promised our food in just a few minutes and got it in just a few minutes. The food tasted fresh and the chips and salsa tasted homemade. The drinks were really big and were worth it. It was a little pricey but came in big portions.

I can't say enough good things about my visit to Alvarado's.Service was quick, friendly and attentive. I love it when quick counter service brings your food to your table. The gent even came and took my empty plate.Carne Asada Torta: I'm qualified to critique Tortas and can tell you this one was top shelf. Bread was soft and crisped on the bottom, meat was savory and flavorful, did not skimp on guacamole and the chips were served up warm.The salsa bar is a nice little add. There were roasted hot peppers and onions, limes, radishes and 4 different salsas. The salsa are packed with flavor, some spicy, some mild and probably hand made based on the "chunks" of real ingredients.Happy hour from 3pm-close. Specials on beer and apps.Highly recommend.Update: came back for another dish. Service was even better than last time.Happy hour birria and nachos did not disappoint.

What a hidden gem!! Food was incredibly good! I had the Wagyu burger. It left me wanting to try everything else on the menu. Manager was super nice and friendly. Can’t say enough good things about this place. I wish they had one by me in Long Beach…maybe one day.
