Hey, we got options over here but ya just try to sit at the bar it's our favorite spot when & if we get lucky to find a spot for two. This place is lively has very good food & lots of banter. it's busy most of the time & lots going on here & the name speaks for itself. We have been here a few times & I have made a friend each & every single time. Maybe there's something in the water. Overall a solid 5 for Great drinks, Atmosphere & Good food. It's the place to be & Friday and Saturday night in this busy Marin quintessential town. Come join us at the guesthouse.

From appetizer to dessert, all of the food was excellent. We ordered the game hen and mushroom gnocchi. The game hen was woodfired and then finished in the oven. The gnocchi had a unique flavor that we loved. The flourless chocolate cake was unbelievable and the server gave us excellent wine recommendations. We were able to watch a basketball game on a tv over the bar, but could turn around and have our own dining experience as well. We'll definitely be back.

Very overrated. Green beans were hard (undercooked) and tasteless. Very forgettable. Strawberry shortcake was dried scone with only a few thin slices of strawberry. Wine pour for pairing was minuscule amounts. Very overpriced even if dishes had been good. Waitstaff was slow.

We were visiting friends in Ross and decided to try guesthouse out. It was amazing. Excellent service ambience was great and the food oh my God. I had a hard time choosing since everything sounded great. Our friends who live in Marin County said it was the best meal they had ever had in Marin county.

Had a dinner for a birthday celebration with family, sat “outside” in the Parklet (with heat lamps).Food:Crab cakes - great, loved the sauce.Bread order - tasty, olive oil was ??Ribeye- medium, cooked well.Porterhouse- rare, too much sauce used and didn’t love the grilled asparagus.Filet- medium, too well cooked for medium.Kale salad- way overdressed.Glass of Zin- perfect.Birthday cookie - lovely.Service was okay, fine. Struggled to take gift card as payment form. All in all, it was a good place for our small group to celebrate and we left pretty happy with it.

I've enjoyed a few meals here and last time sat at the bar. Bartenders were both great and helpful. Try the mushrooms if they are on the menu, they are ridiculously good!

We specifically asked for outdoor seating and they never told us they closed it down before we got there. One of the reasons we decided to come here was for the outdoor seating given we are afraid of getting Covid. They sat us among the other guests in a moderately crowded dining room for a Monday evening and I approached the haughty host to ask to be sat in a less crowded table given they had closed without forewarning us. I pointed to multiple options that would work for us but he pointed out that all the other possible seats were reserved for larger parties or one lightly occupied area that he said would be too noisy. We were discussing the option of leaving and I asked the server to hold off on pouring us any water and explained the situation. The waitperson, Laurel, said to give her a moment while she checked if there was anyplace we could sit where we would be more comfortable and found us another table in a small side room. We were into our salad when the snooty host sat another couple at a four top next to us which contradicted what he had told us earlier. When we left, the host as well as the owner just ignored us as they were both hovering at the host station. My expectation is that you should be greeted when you enter and thanked when you left. This was like going to McDonald’s where you are ignored. The one bright spot was Laurel, our server, who went out of her way to find a place for us and all the time being gracious and attentive. All other waitstaff that served out food, cleared our dishes and replenished our water were exemplary. Luckily for us, the meal was much more pleasant. We both had the daily special which on Monday is their slow smoked prime rib with mashed potatoes, beans, horseradish, and gravy which followed the salad starter and ended with a pumpkin themed dessert. The portions were more than adequate and quite tasty. So the meal and service would have made us anxious to return but being bookended with such a distasteful experience makes us unlikely to return for another dose of rude.

This place seriously has it going on! Loved the food and the ambience the service, the drinks everything well done! Highly recommend this place is fresh and very tasty food. If you're going on a special date, it may be a little noisy, but you will impress!

Second time coming here but this was our first time coming for the prime rib Monday. Very pleased with the meal over all. My partner asked for the avocado bruschetta and they made the substitution without a charge. We definitely didn't need the extra appetizer we ordered but we really wanted to try the tuna tacos and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is a beautifully designed space and all the staff are friendly and helpful.

Ambiance was great and the service was passably fine. The food? Meh. The smoked trout appetizer came out looking amazing, but it was completely devoid of flavor beyond the potato cake it was served on. I had the game hen, which was pretty good. One of our party was vegan, and we asked the waiter what they could do. To his credit, he knew what the word "vegan" meant, and said, "yes, we just put all the vegetables on the plate", and boy, he wasn't kidding: when the plate came out it was just an assortment of root vegetables on a plate, swimming with olive oil. There was a red pepper sauce underneath which made it more appealing, but some beans, some pasta, or something would have made this more of a "dish" and less of an afterthought. It's 2023. Get with it! Nearly every table has at least one vegetarian/vegan at it!

I've been to guesthouse many many times and it never disappoints. Great food, ambiance and drinks every visit!! The truffle fries are to die for and I have yet to order something off the menu that is meh! Just a great restaurant overall!

The place worked hard to be a fancy Marin restaurant, nice atmosphere, elegant dining room, it could have had it all. Yet they forgot that a restaurant is mainly about what's in the plate, and sadly they missed that one real hard. The tuna tartare was fishy, the cacio e pepe forgot both the cacio and the pepe but surely delivered on the endless pile of cream. I had one hope left with the desserts, naively thinking it could be why the crowd suffers through the painful dinner, but all hope left at the first bite of something I miraculously managed to forget about.
