Good selection of food and drinks. Great sangria and prickly pear margarita. Wonderful setting and service, Happy customers. Everything was delicious for a late impromptu dinner.Even the chips and salsa were awesome, light and crisp with a well balanced tasty salsa, I did enjoy the consistency of the salsa, different from most places I go to, and I liked it.

I took my girlfriend here and didn't realize it was Fish Taco Friday! We got a few raffle tickets by ordering off the Fish Taco Friday menu! We ended up winning a brand new snowboard! We had so much fun! We are definitely coming back!

Our original plan was to go to Jason's but unfortunately they closed an hour earlier than advertised so we chose to go across the street to Caliente. The food wasn't quite as "Mexican" as we expected which is described in other people's reviews but it was still pretty good. They aren't really the rice and beans kind of Mexican food if you know what I mean. I got the wet burrito and my boyfriend got the enchiladas. We each ordered a margarita chips and salsa with guacamole. Our bill was $110 which I thought was very overpriced. The margaritas were mediocre and were $17 each. The service was nice, our waiters were friendly though service was a bit slow because they were understaffed, maybe because of the storm? Ambience was decent they have beautifully carved wooden chairs, perhaps that is what our meals were paying for lol. I also must agree with another review that I read on the reviews after eating that the salsa definitely tastes like spaghetti sauce. That I definitely recommend them changing.

Hands down the absolute worst wanna be Mexican food I have ever had.....and this includes Taco Bell. I started off with a "Happy Hour" draft beer with chips and their rendition of salsa and it was $11. I thanked God that the beer was made elsewhere because 7eleven salsa is better than the tomatoe sauce I had there. Being a chef I would seriously never recommend this place to anyone. My dog who eats droppings at the dog park refused to eat Caliente leftovers.

Great location for lunch/ dinner. Ambience is great. Service was alright. Food, well, not so great. Chips were super salty, salsa was like tomato paste. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, was hoping for large fresh shrimp, but these were straight out of a freezer bag that was meant for ceviche or something. My man ordered carne asada that was clearly bought next door at La Mexicana’s carneceria. To make it even better, they didn’t bother cooking the meat all the way!! Very disappointing after a long day of driving and snowboarding. We told our waiter who kindly took it back to the kitchen only to arrive 2 minutes later with a new plate. Seems like they just microwaved the plate. The manager came up to us and rudely said “is your meat cooked all the way now?”. First of all, if you knew how carne asada is supposed to be cooked, you would know that it’s supposed to be cooked well done. If you’re looking for pale carne asada, small pieces of shrimp, and salty chips…. This is the place for you!

Absolutely the worse Mexican food I've I've had at a resturant in Lake Tahoe. We ordered two order of fajitas. I bit into a bone of chicken, the corn tortillas were cold and cracked when we tried to make tacos. The chicken was rubbery and tasted old. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce. No flavor at all. I'll never eat here again. Not recommended!

Overbooked without enough waitstaff. We have frequented this restaurant many times and love this restaurant and the food is amazing but this trip was a 2 hour nightmare. Sorry Caliente!
The service was friendly and welcoming. The food was so-so. Guacamole, chips and a soup special were good, our entrees not so much. Huge portions. None of us finished our entrees. It was okay and convenient.

Had a large party without reservation and the staff accommodated us with ease. Our server Cindy was very sweet and helpful. The food came out fast and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Meals were somewhat pricey but other than that we had an overall good experience here.
