The chicken wings were okay, crispy and tender. Somewhat spicy. Nothing to write a review about either way. But the service, that's another thing. After a siberian-cold welcome and ordering process, I eat my wings at a table, and brought it back to the main counter after finishing it. With nowhere obvious to leave it, I put the plate on a table closest to the counter and left the place thinking I did a good deed. To my surprise and to the others guests', the waitress ran after me in the parking lot shouting that I could have used the trash instead of leaving the plate like this. Wow. Why did I give a tip again??

Used to come to this place when it first opened a few years ago. Used to be fresh, made to order chicken, which made this visit all the more disappointing. We came around noon and got served very quickly with tepid chicken that tasted frozen and stale. They've very clearly cut back on ingredient costs, using frozen chicken and fries, which given the pricing was reminiscent of stadium food. Very disappointing given how good this place used to be.

The tender box was great we also added two wings and an extra tender. We tried the devil garlic sauced and loved it. It had a little spice and great flavor.

They charge you out the ass for sauce, they told me at 5:05 to come back later because they were on break, some how there online ordering system tweaks out and she refused to give me my order because the code would not populate on my phone. It's called Korean chicken but its definitely a Mexican chick working in the back. I'll definitely be back tho because that Latina makes some of the best Chicken I've ever had

I very rarely post 5 star reviews & truthfully I could dock them a half star for ambiance. However, the chicken is so good they get the full score! The chicken was crisp, but still juicy. The slaw and pickles added a nice sweet savory crunch complemented by the Devil Garlic sauce (half dozen choices). Turning the brioche bun inside-out to make a waffle bun is genius! The glazed side in keeps it from getting soggy & the pressed outside gives even more texture. The Cajun seasoned fries have flavor without being hot and were perfectly crisp. Probably the best chicken sando of 2024 for me & always a pleasure to support a small family business!

I’ve had Calvin’s twice now and previously have been satisfied however my last experience just kind of ruined this place for me. Found a piece of metal in my chicken tender. I’m lucky I wasn’t eating more vigorously because I could have been seriously hurt. Sadly now I’m definitely not returning, not worth the risk.

Ok uncle Calvin's chicken got it going on. A little shabby chicken shop run by a Korean family is exactly the place I expect to find amazing Korean chicken. We ordered the soy garlic chicken to go for a nice Torrey pines view and it was still bomb. Sweet and crunchy and addicting. My Korean family loved it. We will be back for more.

location: same plaza as Pho La Jolla & Dominos parking: free!! main takeaway: solid place for korean fried chicken. their dining area is pretty small, but they have some tables inside and a few outside if you wanted to eat there! stendout: my favorite was the savory red; it's mildly spicy, and it compliments the crispy chicken

Dietary restrictions: We took a chance based on other reviews and my Celiac daughter had no reaction and LOVED the garlic soy tenders.

Ordered the 10 piece, but it was not only partial wing pieces. Too expensive for essentially 5 chicken wings. Better value spots near Convoy.

It's a very tiny place. The fried chicken is fine. It comes with a vinegar coleslaw. I wish they had a more traditional Korean Fried Chicken side dish of pickled radish. They have a shared bathroom upstairs and you need to ask for a key. Service was kind of mid. The person taking the order wasn't friendly or rude - just meh.

Don’t understand why so many people like this place. Clearly some unrefined palates out there. Tenders were large portion. Flavors were okay for the sauce but quite salty. Chicken was bland and tough. Cole slaw was good and rice and fries were average. Staff wasn’t friendly at all. Gross ketchup bottle provided, which amazed me. Zero ambiance. Will not return.

I was a little confused at the savory red flavor because it's sweet, I was expecting more salty. But yummy sandwich anyways! Thank you

Be careful of the older guy at the cash register. He will over charge you.
