This place has delicious Indian food, made fresh as soon as you order it (but doesn't take too long). The veggie samosas are delicious, especially with the green cilantro sauce that comes with it. The chicken naan was also very good with lots of flavor. They use a wonderful combination of ingredients, spices, and aromatics in their cooking and the service is kind.

Delicious food..so flavorful! And, huge portions (enough for 2). I ordered a chana masala and a bhata eggplant dish, and, although I ordered both of them "mild", the chana was spicy, but tolerable. The menu is extensive. Parking is not. This is in a tiny strip mall with several eateries, but only about a dozen parking places. This seems to be a busy spot for the likes of Doordash, etc, so keep that in mind if you're famished or merely hungry. Your order may be delayed a bit (but, worth the wait!). Atmosphere is not their strong suit, so plan on sitting outside on the patio, which is lovely. I'll be back to try some other things.

Finally! I've been searching high and low for great Indian food in SD, and this is it! Great quality, delicious, fast service. And when I ask for spicy it really is! Only one request: please add cauliflower rice as an option, it'd make me feel less guilty eating Indian more often!!

I had an exceptional dining experience at Clay Oven Indian Cuisine! The Chicken Tikka Masala was flavorful and tender, and the Yellow Dal was a delightful surprise. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend! ??

The food was decent but the portions were low for the ludicrous prices and the plates weren't even sorted for us, and the cups were plastic the restaurant had no heat and the doors were open making it close to freezing, additionally along with those prices the drinks had no ice and the server was rushed and inconsiderate the dining was overall a bad experience and I would never recommend it for a place you go with a group of friends.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a while. I’d recommend letting them know how spicy you want it when ordering. It didn’t have that option when I ordered on Uber Eats and it was pretty spicy but still loved it.

Excellent place for Indian food. Was pleasant experience for a group of 5. The Wait is a little long but well worth it as you know you are getting real food.

They gave away our order. We ordered on door dash and waited 40 minutes. When we showed up they had accidentally given our food away to someone else. They tried calling the person for 10 minutes before finally offering to remake our food, another 20 min. We had a young baby with us so we couldn't wait even longer and it sucks because we ended up with no dinner as there was no time to pick up something else.Mistakes happen but they didn't handle the situation well.We also came the day before and they said they were closed on break, but their hours on the door and Google don't indicate a break. So the food might be good but we will never know.

I have been eating Indian food my entire life, yet this Indian restaurant put in the extra effort to make the food unique and absolutely delicious! The Vegetable Samosas had a plethora of Indian spices, and the plum sauce was prepared with fresh herbs. Also, the Garlic Naan was prepared with an abundance of garlic and garnishing. Even the Raita went above and beyond my expectations with the variety of spices and herbs throughout. The Chicken Tikka Masala was buttery with cubed chicken and a monolayer of additional Indian spices sprinkled on top. Additionally, the Vegetable Khorma was thick and tasty with a variety of colorful vegetables, rather than being overloaded with potatoes, as is the case at most Indian restaurants. Overall, these dishes were amazing! However, I gave the restaurant 4 stars rather than 5 stars, because these dishes were far too spicy for the average customer. Also, they did not provide any options for making them less spicy... Be careful, because the heat level was rather intense, and I am accustomed to spicy food!

One of my favorite Indian places in the area. Food is amazing and the prices are reasonable. The portions are huge so I would recommend splitting the lunch special if you can't eat a huge troft of food. The service is great. The ambience is nice because your in the heart of La Jolla
