This place was a big of a hidden gem - the service was incredible for fast casual and the empanadas and beans and rice were probably the best we have had - cooked perfectly and so well seasoned. We also loved the Ropa Vieja. Also don't miss the Cuban coffee and a cinnamon roll!

I came here with some coworkers on a Thursday for lunch. It was my first time trying Cuban food, and it definitely will not be my last! Free and plentiful parking in the lot. Small restaurant with a few tables inside. You order and pay at the register before taking a seat. I ordered a steak saute, medium rare, with cilantro sauce ($19) per Sarah's recommendation. The dish was seasoned perfectly and was so flavorful. I truly have nothing bad to say about it; everything from the sides (beans, plantains, rice) to the steak tasted delicious. Everyone in my party agreed that this place was a hit. Service was wonderful. Sarah and Alejandro were so hard working and kind. Definitely an unassuming, hidden gem that you should check out if you're in the mood for some Cuban food!!

In the past, I have enjoyed this restaurant but I am sorry to say it has really gone downhill. We ordered the Chino curry chicken plate and the Cuban shredded beef plate. Both meat dishes were swimming in oil. All the dishes were overly salty. We enjoyed the plantains but that's about it. We have ordered food from them at least 6 times in the past year and the last two times we have been disappointed. It is really too bad.

Probably the best service I've ever had in a small cafe type establishment. The staff was genuinely kind and courteous. They gave great recommendation and the food was amazing.

What a beautiful find ! I was visiting in La Jolla and looking for a place to pick up a quick bite. I found Havana kitchen when I was walking in the area. I placed my order and picked it up and was very disappointed I didn't dine there. The decor is charming, the restaurant beautiful and immaculate. My dish was outstanding as was the sandwich I picked out for my son. Even the plantains are excellent and I typically don't enjoy them. Now I'm a plantain fan! Definitely will be back when I'm visiting the area again. Awesome place to dine with great staff as well.

I've just been the one time and had the original Cubano sandwich. Absolutely fantastic. Everything about it was just right, from the flavor balance to the texture of the bread. It came with the best fried plantains I've ever had. Good music playing, decently friendly staff. If everything else is as good as what I had, it's a home run.

We spent the day in La Jolla and decided to try this place out for dinner. We ordered the yucca fries, chicken sandwich, and steak sandwich. The yucca fries were delicious, but it could come with more for the price. The steak sandwich was my favorite between the two. It was perfectly crispy, cheesy, and had a lot of flavor from the grilled onions/peppers and pepperoncinis. It had the right amount of spice to it. The chicken sandwich was good. It had a nice buttery garlic flavor, but I wish they notated on the menu that it also includes sliced ham as my other half doesn't eat pork. He just took it out, so it wasn't a big issue but something that should be listed on the menu. Both sandwiches also came with a side of grilled plantains. It wasn't very busy when we came. The service was great. They checked on us and provided extra hot sauce and garlic sauce. I want to try the empanadas next time.

Back a second time and it dis not disappoint had the Lechon Asado (roasted pork dish). Generous portion of pork, served w rice beans and plantains. Pork was fresh and flavorful, rice, beans and plantains as good as Id remembered for $16. Seemed very reasonable for quality, portion and service.

It is a fast casual modern cafe. Order at the counter and it is delivered to your table. I had the three empanada plate- fresh cooked, and crispy. They were tasty but could have been seasoned more. There was a small container of non-describe sauce. The plantains were sweet and good, as weee the beans and rice. My partner had the spicy Cuban sandwich- very good! We'd eat there again.

The Cuban meals were delish. Really homestyle comfort food. We will return soon.Parking: The entrance to the parking lot is a blink past the restaurant. It's in a small strip mallnext to Havana Kitchen on right-hand side, located across from a shoppingWheelchair accessibility: The wheelchair ramp is accessible in the rear of the restaurant.

The food at Havana Kitchen was absolutely amazing. The empanada with picadillo, plaintains, rice / beans were delicious! We've been here 3 times as a family and have loved it each time.
