Nozomi is a nice quiet sushi place right around ucsd. I love coming here whenever my girlfriend and I don't feel like cooking. It always hits the spot and the ambiance is always super fitting and relaxing. One thing I recommend is bringing a jacket as the seating is outdoors and can get quite chilly! The service is always great, super sweet

I used to come here all the time when I lived in San Diego more than a decade ago. I was on vacation here with my kids, and wanted to show them where I used to come. Going to a place with high levels of nostalgia is always risky- you might hate it, and then the entire memory is ruined! Well, that was not the case here. Loved every bite, and my kids said "it's great! Thank you for bringing me here!"

After eating some spicy tuna rolls from here, I got bad stomach cramps in the morning. I used to eat sushi every week and have never been sick. The tuna itself was decent, and I liked the rice and seaweed. The ginger wasn't crisp or good. The wait here is long. There was only one girl taking orders both in-person and on the phone, and it took forever.

My husband and I tried their sushi, bento and noodles. The service was good. The ambiance was excellent. Except for the sushi, the food was very ordinary like you could get else where for half the price they charged. We might again for the sushi, but won't try other food there.
