Love the regular Matcha! So good, not too bitter and not too sweet. I also tried the PARU Milk Tea which was too milky for me and the flavor of the tea was not very strong which I would have preferred. Not really a place to sit and drink more like a grab and go place. LOVE THAT it’s made with oatmilk as I am vegan.

My favorite matcha spot in San Diego. They also have a huge selection of loose tea leaves and more.

The best matcha I ever had! I took owner’s favorite and now it is also my favorite!

My is purely based on the Matcha latte signature drink. The interior is really nice and I’m sure you can buy high quality matcha here. The drink was too watery And lacked Matcha flavor. For seven dollars I expected more and better options in San Diego

Huge gap in quality between this place and everywhere else when it comes to true, authentic, great, Matcha, and teas.Such a beautiful, peaceful, meditative and welcoming environment, along with great people that work there.

PARU has the finest of teas in San Diego - genuine pu'er is tough to come by, and theirs is top notch, it takes me back to Yunnan and makes me so happy :) It is certainly worth every penny and I definitely recommend. Their shop is bright, clean, and artful and the staff here are professional and skilled. Thanks PARU for always providing a great experience! :)

Get the matcha. It’s fresh ground in house and is one of four places in the US with a matcha mill. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is a must

The experience is pretty dope. The staff is friendly. The matcha itself was ok. I definitely would go back to try their other teas.

I visited Paru since there was a calligraphy workshop being hosted there. I ordered the Hojicha Latte and it automatically came with oat milk which is great since I am lactose intolerant. It had the roasty flavor of Hojicha which is my fave, and it wasn't sweetened which was a little surprising for me, but in all honesty this was my first time ever ordering a Hojicha Latte. I usually get Hojicha soft serve at other establishments so I think I'm just accustomed to thinking the Hojicha will be sweet. I ended up finishing the entire drink that night and I don't know what I was thinking!! I'm sensitive to caffeine so I couldn't sleep that entire night. Mistakes were made on my end haha, but next time I will definitely keep in mind to drink this earlier in the day!

Definitely the best and highest quality matcha I’ve had in San Diego (and maybe all of California)! All of the staff are super helpful and knowledgeable on the origin of all their teas and products. We ordered a matcha latte with whole milk and it really hit the spot. The flavor was very smooth, nutty, and slightly earthy. We also bought some oolong tea to make later. Definitely coming back if I’m in the area!

I came here after having horrible matcha from Hermosa Surf. The matcha at Paru is amazing and you can tell they make it with love. It's not too sweet and the matcha flavor really shines. On top of this, the store is so cute and you can smell all the different tea samples. 10/10!!

Mm I had pretty high hopes for PARU, since I am a pretty big fan of matcha. My sister and I got both the house-milled matcha latte and the 10k one (so a $6 vs $10). Honestly, I couldn't tell a difference between the two- and they both just tasted like oat milk only to me.. My sister could tell the difference a little, but I'm not sure if it was because she was forcing herself to try because of the price difference hahah. I really did give it multiple tastes to see, but yeah, just tasted like oat milk. Pretty disappointing D: Wish we could've actually tasted the matcha flavor. We came on a Friday afternoon (street parking! really easy) and it wasn't too busy, so we were able to get our orders in quickly and just explore the shop. The shop was pretty cute inside; I also liked their music since it matched their aesthetic! There's a lot to look around, since they display all their different teas. We sampled their Pandan waffle tea, which I thought was unique (though I don't know what to think of it). The service was great! But yeah just wished their drinks were stronger, to at least taste like matcha.. I heard their hojicha was really good? Maybe I'll give that a shot.
