This place is a gem. My wife and I absolutely loved our sandwiches. It has a cute vibe that is very inviting. They are very helpful if you arent sure what you want. They have won a lot of awards for their food and service and it is well deserved.Update: right after I left this review the owner came by and gave us some free cheese, including one that is no longer being made. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Best charcuterie board ever!! I needed one for thanksgiving and thought of it a few day prior… not only did they call me back within minutes but they made our appetizer a perfect one for the evening!! Absolutely would use them again…also we love their sandwiches!!! Don’t hesitate to go here….perfection!!

Smallgoods is the best charcuterie and sandwich shop in San Diego!! There is so many different sandwich options to choose from and everyone will find their own, my go to is the holy mole! The cheese boxes and platters are great for grab and go to the beach days and they also have a wonderful selection of fresh baked local goods like chocolate chip cookies and baguettes! I take all of my friends and family here when they are in SD and I highly recommend you do too!!!

I ordered a charcuterie platter for a casual outdoor family celebration. The presentation was impressive and could easily have been appropriate for a very formal event. Items were suggested and customized to suit varied tastes and was beautifully arranged, all items were fresh and delicious with cheeses I had never tasted before. Extremely pleased.

I've been following them, and their success, since meeting at the La Jolla Farmers Market, years ago.For me, not only is it THE destination for high quality cheeses, meats, and small gourmet delights in La Jolla, I know without a doubt, it's the place to go in the entire San Diego area. Working as a private chef for a very well travelled discerning couple, it is incumbent on me to seek out and source the finest ingredients money can buy. Small goods is THE one stop shop for the finest cheeses, dried/cured meats, olives, crackers, honey, fresh backed breads, empanadas, the most gorgeous cheese trays/charcuterie boards, prepared foods, thoughtful sandwiches, and in general one of a kind products you will NOT find anywhere else in the San Diego area. How lucky am I one of my employers homes is right here in La Jolla! All served up by two of the most kind, thoughtful, genuinely good people, the proprietors, that you will ever meet! As Judy Garland once said, and I will paraphrase, Small Goods, is simply THE END in in Gourmet Products! Look no further! You will find none better!

10/10 charcuterie tray! Mike was so thoughtful and paired all the meats and cheeses with what drinks I told him we were having. The food was phenomenal and all sourced from the US. Highly recommend and will definitely use again for my next event.

This is an incredible cheese shop with even better company/ownership. We’ve known Jenny and Mike since before they had a storefront. Jenny is a member of the American cheese society. La Jolla doesn’t realize what a gem they have here (jk, they know, hence # of recent awards!).The cheeses are amazing, tasty, and unusual/hard to find. The meats are tasty. They always have unique items - today we bought some goat ghee! Another unique item they briefly had was a cave aged butter front Vermont that I think David Chang had special ordered. Today they had a harvest cheese that looked like a wheel made of fall sunset. The white truffle salami was very tasty. Our baby really enjoyed their baguette.I’d order their cheese trays and charcuterie boards for friends and family anytime. They have a fridge w some special soft cheeses to check out. Totally worth a stop for lunch or for a platter on your way to the beach. Hopefully you can say hi to Cash their dachshund who is also around on occasion.

The BEST sandwiches in San Diego! The Norcal veggie is my favorite You really can't compare any other cheese shop to Smallgoods. The quality of the ingredients and service is unmatched! My partner really enjoys their Sampler sandwich which you can get on a baguette as well. The charcuterie boards, beach boxes, and platters are always so well thought out and carefully crafted. You can definitely see the effort that is put into making them. The owners Mike and Jenny are always so warm and friendly. Mike is very charismatic and always gives you a laugh, while Jenny is quick to share her extensive knowledge of cheeses! Every time I visit, I feel as if I'm a guest in their home. Often times they'll offer you a sample or two of cheese or artisanal meat to try (spoiler, it's always amazing, and yes you'll want to buy some to take home ). The space is clean, comfortable and casual. Just the way I like it! Perfect to grab lunch, or grab charcuterie and head to the beach just down the street. Overall Smallgoods is one of the best spots you can go to in La Jolla, and I'd say even in San Diego! This is definitely not somewhere you want to overlook. Truly a hidden gem!
