Incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all things coffee and more. In-house coffee roasting so the quality is on point. Açaí bowls are tasty! Will eventually have to try the rest of the menu.

Subterranean is amazing!! I’m so happy they opened this location, I’ve been going to the north park and South Park locations for years but this one is much closer. They have the best acai bowls I’ve ever had and their coffee is delicious. I love the different flavor combinations they create too. Check them out!

Cute little coffee shop tucked away right off the beach! The coffee was good quality and service was great. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you're looking for a local spot to grab some coffee or a snack.

This is a cute little smoothie shack in South Park! I got the pitaya bowl and it was huge and very filling. Tons of peanut butter on top and it was fast and easy service. Some outdoor seating available for when the weather is nice. No indoors or outlets if you're trying to work but a good place to stop for a bite!

Definitely check this place out!! Serious good coffee - like next level coffee. I ordered a simple iced vanilla coffee mostly to wake up but I loved it from first sip. The shop is adorable as well. I was sad that I didn't have time to post up for a few hours. The friendly owner, Gene, explained the brew process of this Colombian flavor. Such a rich, smooth flavor. Skip Starbucks if you're in the area. Go local!!!

Standing in front of their business right now waiting for food from Deli-icious since Subterranean Coffee isn’t open 30 minutes after they’re suppose to be. Really wanted to try this place but I guess they don’t want to make money. I would even understand if there was a sign posted, “hi, sorry for the inconvenience….” But no, just not open.

Subterranean Coffee has opened a location at the International Shops in the La Jolla Cove area. While there is ample foot traffic on the touristy Prospect St, the suite is recessed way in the back of the narrow corridor so access and visibility are limited. If it wasn't for a sidewalk sign indicating their presence, then I would not have known about the location. It's actually easier to reach the shop from the rear using an alleyway. The inside of the suite was tiny with five or six stools available at a high-top counter for seating. One more round-top table sat out in front. Three menu pages were taped to a window so you could see the offerings without entering. For such a small setup, the variety of choices was impressive. I picked the Strawberries & Cream acai bowl which was one of the four varieties.Organic acai was mixed with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, bananas, and frozen yogurt which was the cream component. All of the fruit was fresh, and the bowl's serving size was decent. The worker (owner?) was quite friendly. If you are a coffee aficionado, then come check out their products as there were over a couple of dozen selections of which many were sweet.

Wonderful spot with a surprisingly large menu. I got the four layer bagel and it had the best pesto I've had in a very long time (!). Coffee was superb. Proprietor was friendly and warm. Will definitely return.

Happened into this gem of a spot while looking for breakfast. Good food, excellent cold brew coffee, and cozy atmosphere made for a great experience. To top it off the prices are reasonable and the owner is a great person.

This is a rad little coffee and smoothie shop tucked in the International Shops. I already had my coffee before stopping in, so I went with a smoothie. It was FANTASTIC. Left with a couple egg and cheese empanadas and a blondie brownie. Pretty solid breakfast for a day of walking La Jolla. You can get 'bucks coffee at the airport, eat local! I totally recommend Subterranean.
