Def would come here again. Went on date night here and it didn't disappoint. It's easy to have good sushi for $$$$ but it's hard to find a reasonable priced spot with the same quality. S on the R does just that. Coming back!!

I ordered from Uber Eats from this place. More than an hour and a half - with the driver already at the restaurant- THE RESTAURANT CANCELLED THE ORDER!!!!!! This is absolutely the worst customer service ever! Customer beware of this duplicitous establishment.

I am so disappointed with this spot. It has been a favorite of mine for years - and I went to take my friend to celebrate my birthday last Thursday and was told there was a wait for 30-40 minutes. Totally fine, they took my number and said they'd call when it was ready. We waited over an hour and decided to come back and check in. We were told the restaurant had closed and the chefs went home. They claimed they had tried to call me (Zero missed messages) and that maybe I had bad reception. We were literally waiting in the car down the stairs with perfect cell reception. The entire staff was unprofessional - not sure why the hostess had a complete attitude. Sad to see the place going downhill.

Dined outside. Got pretty cold, heaters were on but not high. Service was great. Family loves this place and comes super often. I wish they had more vegan options, even vegan desert would be nice...we did enjoy the rolls we got that were vegan friendly. Seems like a great meal for non vegan customers. Parking was fun to find, drove around the block a few times but then found a great stop luckily.

Great service, energetic vibe at the entrance, with great hospitality as we were seated. Sushi and sashimi was ocean fresh, along with the breathtaking view of La Jolla. Looking forward to heading there soon.

Service here was really good and the food was delicious as well. We got the kitchen sink, coco, and the blondie roll and although they were all different, they were all well prepared and presented nicely. The coco was sweet. The blondie was very well seasoned with the fried onions on top, and the kitchen sink had a tempura shell with spicy mayo topping. All great choices with the last 2 being my favorites. Eat on the patio for a nice view and ambiance!

Sushi on the rock is our go-to place when we have guests visiting San Diego. Guests love the fun La Jolla atmosphere, and I love their food! What I really like about their menu, is I don't eat seafood or sushi, but love their chicken and vegetarian options which can be hard to come by at other sushi restaurants. The sweet potato fries are always a crowd pleaser and my husband loves their saki and crunchy rolls. We have been and will continue to be longtime fans of Sushi on the Rock!
