Everything is good but I just don’t like the 18% service fee they add to the bill, that is not a tip.

We dined here before seeing a movie nearby at Reading Cinema. The restaurant was woefully understaffed. While plenty of tables appears available, we weren't seated until 20 minutes past our reservation time. We ended up seated at a table in the bar area, again, not what we wanted, and near the restrooms, while again plenty of other tables appeared available. We waited another 15 minutes before the bartender finally approached us advising he would be taking care of us. To his credit, he was kind and those of us who ordered cocktails were impressed with the drinks. While we were waiting to be served, a member of our party cleaned the table because it was sticky. When the food finally arrived, none of it was very good. I myself ordered the steak frites, medium rare, they came out almost well done. The fries were cold. Bacon on another entree was overcooked to the point it was black, and no one was overly pleased with the entrees. When we were asked how everything was, we complimented the drinks and the service the bartender gave us, but advised of the problems with the food. It was just shrugged off and no accommodation was provided or even offered. I have memories of other Claim Jumper locations being pretty good, but this was a horrible experience and we will never return.

Poor customer service , went in for a date night with my wife. Took us 10 mins to be seated, they had one other person with 2 servers serving that family. Another server saw us standing waiting to be seated and got us seated and got our drinks. I was able to complete the sign up for the app, get an email confirming and another 10 mins passed by. My wife soda was flat, we saw the other 2 servers continue to take plates off and help the other family. The same server that sat us, asked if we had been helped and we said no, that we were thinking of leaving. He said if you change your mind let me know it's not my section but walked away, we tried to look for him but no success. After 25 mins of sitting and waiting we left. This is not the first time this happened, we had our wedding party back in 2021 and instead of giving us the room that could put everyone at one table they spread us out in one section having a big separation of the party and it was weird and awkward. This is probably the last time we will come into this place and if you like good customer service please steer clear of this place.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The ribeye steak was expensive, but it was very good. Our grandson was running around as three year olds do it was very nice that it was not very crowded and no one complained. We enjoyed our dinner, and service was excellent.

The Chicken Florentine is absolutely delicious! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because we waited half an hour to be seated and the restaurant wasn't full.

Great food and great atmosphere. Service was good and Jennifer was a great waitress. The theme of the place is rustic and fun. Claim Jumper La Mesa is a bit of an anomaly though. We visited on a Wednesday at about 6:30 pm. This place should have been full, but it was nearly empty. Hopefully this place will survive, but I think after the COVID fiasco, and people wanting to do more take out, the American restaurant experience and socializing outside of the home may be in serious jeopardy. Very sad.

My husband had the Cobb salad and he said that it was the best he's ever had. I had the Club sandwich, our friend had the Chicken Citrus salad and they were both excellent. We will definitely be back.

I decided to dine with my mom, Laura, and my friend Heather. It was part of a birthday celebration for me. The food was absolutely outstanding, and the service we had was very good. We did have to wait about five or 10 minutes to be seated, but that's, not too bad. I'll certainly be coming back to the claim jabber in Lisa again at some point when I'm in the mood.
